  1. Please don't make duplicate threads for the same request. Since there is a second post asking for a VPS dashboard to be installed, we'll use the other later thread here to share further updates: https://helionet.org/index/topic/63317-krydos-vps-gui/
  2. All HelioHost staff are volunteers. We all have full time jobs and lives outside of this project. We run this organization in our free time, and if we don't have very much free time things don't get done very quickly. Most for-profit hosting companies have a staff of full time employees who sit around providing support and working 40 hours a week. It's very rare for any of our volunteers to work more than an hour or so each day. None of our volunteers are required to log a certain number of hours and may come and go as they please. If we aren't having fun volunteering, providing support, chatting with the community, and developing new features then we take a break and do things that are more fun for us. This is why we don't have SLAs or ETAs for new features or repairs, and this is why things move a little slower than a for-profit company that you might be used to dealing with. You can read more about response timescales here: https://wiki.helionet.org/hosting/repair-times When we helped you figure out the card payment, we did so in our spare time. You're welcome, by the way, since our advice seems to have worked and you managed to sort out the card payment for a VPS. It's generally considered impolite to be impatient when people are spending their free time to help. I can only speak for myself but the requests that are more fun for me to spend my spare time on are the ones where the user has been polite and patient (saying please and thank you can get a person pretty far in life) instead of bumping a thread demanding updates. This is not like a paid job where I have to deal with any kind of rudeness a customer throws my way: if I see someone has been rude and impatient, or made duplicate threads for the same request, I am free to move on to a different person to help, since it's more fun and interesting for me to donate my time to help people who appreciate it. Although there is no set ETA for requests, we do generally try to reply within 24 hours, but real-life priorities can impact things. There is no daily schedule set for when any of us login and process requests. I presume you want Hestia installed for WordPress (this would have been a good detail to include in your original request), and when Krydos has some free time to install that for you, he will do that and reply in this thread. If you absolutely cannot wait another second and need Hestia installed onto your VPS right now, you could do it yourself using Hestia's installation guide here: https://hestiacp.com/docs/introduction/getting-started.html Once Hestia is installed, you can install WordPress using the tutorial guide in our Wiki here: https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/vps/wordpress-hestia
  3. So it doesn't look like you are being redirected to use a PayPal account, since the error suggests it was trying to use the card you provided. What seems to be happening is that PayPal (as the card payment processor) cannot set a subscription up using that specific card. This confirms that it will accept credit/debit cards as payment, so you do not need to have a PayPal account. However, it will not accept the card you are trying to use. This can happen with prepay cards, which will work for one-off payments but will not work for ongoing subscriptions, like for a VPS. Obviously I don't know the details of the card you're trying, but if it will not be accepted by PayPal, you would probably need to try a different card, making sure that it is not a prepaid type of card (which your bank can probably advise you better on).
  4. You may need to take screenshots of what you are seeing so we can understand what is happening on your side. When I try to signup, I choose the "Debit or Credit Card" button: Then it takes me to a page to choose the country. When I choose Sri Lanka I see these options. Google translate tells me this is saying "Pay with debit or credit card": Just because PayPal is the payment processor does not mean you need a PayPal account to pay with a debit or credit card. If you are getting an error message or seeing different fields that don't offer an option to pay with your debit card, please share screenshots of what you're seeing, so we can try to help you a little further. Please could you translate any messages to English since Google translate isn't always helpful.
  5. Edit: I see MoneyBroz has also been helping you while I was typing up my huge post. 😄 I suspect the only way to know for sure if your debit card will be accepted is to try, and let us know if you have trouble. This is a bit more info about the signup process: The VPS signup process is automated, so you would just go here (https://heliohost.org/vps/) and choose the Venus plan, if that's what you want. Then choose your subscription length, choose a username (this cannot be the same username as the one you use for the shared hosting account), set a password, and then agree to the Terms of Service. After all that, you will see a page with a blue PayPal button, and right underneath that another dark grey button with "Debit or Credit Card", so you can click on that one and proceed to enter your debit card info. Once you have finished signing up and the payment is approved, the system will start to build your VPS. The build process isn't immediate, so please be patient. Once the VPS has been built for you, you will receive an email with your VPS number and the login details to use. At that point, if you would like us to install a dashboard for you, let us know which one you want, and we can set it up for you. A dashboard can only be installed on a fresh OS, so if this is something you want, please let us know right away before you make any changes to your VPS, or else it will delay things if we have to reset the VPS to install the dashboard on there. You are allowed 1 free VPS reset per month, so it'd be better not to need to use it right away.
  6. Hello! I've added that domain for you. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache
  7. Yes, it is possible to pay without PayPal. Other options are to pay with a credit or debit card processed by PayPal (which you do not need a PayPal account for), or via crypto. If you decide to pay with crypto, we require 6 months payment at a time because it's too much work to manually verify crypto payments every month. On all VPS plans, no matter how you pay, we offer 10% discount when you pay for 6 months upfront. Once you click on any plan tile, you'll see this discount offer confirmed in writing on the page for you.
  8. The Venus plan (and all the VPS plans) can easily handle 1 or many WordPress sites. All VPS plans come with unlimited bandwidth, which means there is no limit or cap on the total number of daily hits that your VPS websites can get. If your WP site on our VPS becomes very popular and you get a large amount of daily visitors, our VPS can handle that just fine. Of course, you will want to make sure you have anti-spam and anti-bot attack protection on your WP install, even on a VPS. You may be aware of the risk that comes with using WP on our shared hosting, since WP is bloated software and can often get attacked by bots (which then causes the account load to get too high, and results in account suspension). The same risk of bot attacks exists when WP is installed onto a VPS, but the difference is that if this happens on a VPS, the load does not impact our other users. We'd still recommend making sure you have WP security plugins installed, so that bots cannot repeatedly attack your VPS WordPress site and risk slowing it down for your website visitors. Please note that a VPS is basically a machine with an OS installed, so if you're not comfortable with the command line, you can request that we install a free dashboard onto the VPS for you when it is created. Popular free dashboards are Hestia and KeyHelp. Since you mention WordPress, Hestia offers a straightforward "one-click install" feature for WP (that you can read more about here), that may be helpful for you.
  9. You're very welcome. 🙂 This support request is being escalated to our root admins who can install Hestia for you.
  10. I believe that technically Plesk can be put onto a VPS but it would add something like $15 USD/month to the VPS cost because it needs a license. Otherwise, for free control panels, we usually recommend Hestia or KeyHelp. Both of these offer demo sites, you can see which one you prefer. The Hestia demo can be found here (look for the "Try the Demo" button) and the KeyHelp demo can be found here (look for the "View Live Demo Now" button). I've used them both and they feel quite similar. Hestia seems to be more popular, just from what I've seen folks asking to be added to their VPSes. One notable difference is that Hestia has a "one-click install" feature for WordPress, which may be relevant to you if you're planning on using WP. Please let us know if you want to explore adding Plesk for a higher cost, or which of the free ones you'd like installed. (If you're comfortable with the command line, you can install either of the free ones yourself too, as long as you haven't done anything on your VPS yet, because both control panels need a freshly-installed OS with nothing changed on it yet.)
  11. Glad you found it. 🙂 There is a screenshot in the guide of where to find it, but maybe we could make the steps a bit clearer and specify to check on the Get Started tab. I often forget where to look for it myself, I don't know why it feels so easy to miss. A usual warning we give anyone using Node it to keep a close eye on your account load. Node is a major cause of accounts getting suspended, so you can keep an eye on the load caused by your account here: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/ I'll mark this thread as [Answered] since the problem is resolved but please start a new request if you get stuck, and we'll be happy to try and help.
  12. I've added both of those for you. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for them to fully work. If after a full 2 hours they don't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache
  13. This support request is being escalated to our root admins.
  14. Please do not create duplicate posts for the same request. This has been answered in the Customer Service section: https://helionet.org/index/topic/63284-new-domain-requirement-extensions-enable-and-domain-document-root-change-request/#findComment-285333
  15. I've added the domain for you. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache Python is enabled by default, both versions 3.9 and 3.12 are available. You can read more about how to check for what packages are installed, and how to ask for any others you may need at the following link. Please make sure to check the list of things already installed, so you don't ask for packages that are already available: https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/python The default webroot on a main domain is the /httpdocs folder. The webroot for the addon domain will be the folder named 'coursewagon.helioho.st' inside the Home directory. Since you deleted and recreated your account only a short while ago, these defaults should be in effect. If you see something different in your File Manager, please give us a screenshot of the issue to help us troubleshoot further.
  16. I've escalated your request to the root admins who can change your forum display name for you. 🙂
  17. I've added that domain for you. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache In the meantime, please either: - Point your domain to the HelioHost nameservers: `ns1.heliohost.org` and `ns2.heliohost.org`, or - Create A and/or AAAA records and point them to the IP address for the server you're on. You can find the IP address to use inside Plesk > Websites & Domains > [domain name] > and check at the bottom of the page.
  18. Thank you for the donation! 🙂 This support request is being escalated to our root admins who can increase your account storage once they verify the transaction.
  19. I've escalated this request to the attention of the root admins who can help with this. Just in case you weren't already aware, you can request to change your forum account name, instead of deleting and starting over (if that's your intention behind the deletion). If you'd prefer a rename, just let us know what new forum username you'd like and the root admins can help with that, too.
  20. If everything is working as expected now, I'll mark this thread as [Solved] but if you need help with anything else please feel free to start a new request thread and we'll be happy to help. 🙂
  21. Hello! We don't own the ".in.us" domain so this isn't one of the free domains we can offer. We can offer domains ending with "helioho.st" and "heliohost.us". Your other option was possible, so I have now added "insider.in.heliohost.us" to your account. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache
  22. Hello! Users cannot yet add subdomains themselves, but an admin can make the changes for you, just let us know what subdomain you want added. There's more details on subdomain management here.
  23. I've added the k79 subdomain for you, please give it a full 2 hours to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache Per your request, I have removed and re-added the next subdomain, please also give it an entire 2 hours to work fully. When domains are deleted, their files are also deleted. I took a backup before the delete, so in case you need any files from the old domain. You can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backup If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/plesk/account-backups If you continue to have issues with the Softaculous install, please create a new topic for the issue, since this thread was for 'add a domain' and has been marked as [Solved]. In the new topic please make sure to provide 1) the name of the software package you're trying to install, 2) the settings you used (if different from the defaults) when installing it, and 3) any error messages seen during the install inside Softaculous.
  24. I've added that one for you. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new subdomain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache
  25. I have now added domain 'projects.helioho.st' to your account. Typically we need to know the full domain including the TLD ending but since your main domain ends with helioho.st I took a guess that you wanted a similar TLD to that one. Please let us know if this isn't what you wanted. You can refer to this guide on how to request more domains, if you'd like more added later on. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache
