  1. But you DO have your own site, and you're doing great! No one is born knowing anything about how to do any of this. ? The fact that you've pushed yourself to do something you don't 100% have all the knowledge on yet is worth celebrating, because not everyone would even have the courage to try. An IPv4 address is the type you probably think of when someone mentions an IP address, they look like 192.168.1.1. Every IP address has to be unique, so we can only have about 4.3 billion of them before running out of numbers. It feels like 4.3 billion should be enough, but when you consider that every smartphone, computer, internet router, smart TV, etc. has its own IP address, eventually we'll run out of them. IPv6 addresses look like 2001:0db8:85a3::8a2e:0370:7334 and we can have trillions of them so it's very unlikely we'll ever run out. They're also better than IPv4 in other ways, but they're not used everywhere yet, which is why we can use both to connect to the Tommy server, for example. There's a lot more information on the different kinds of IPs that become important if you get more into computer networking and security. Personally I enjoyed learning the extra details, but I think if you can tell the difference between an IPv4 and an IPv6 just by looking at the different ways the numbers are written, you're probably further ahead than most people on the internet. Your support request post is also a perfect example of the right way to ask for help. You gave us all the details about what you tried and the error messages you got, AND you checked the server status page before posting?! Most people don't know how to do all that! You're probably a lot more technically skilled than you might give yourself credit for, so keep doing what you're doing! ?
  2. I've changed the main domain on your account for you. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/Clear_Your_Cache In the meantime, please make sure you configure DNS for the new domain. You can either: 1) Set NS records pointed to the HelioHost nameservers: `ns1.heliohost.org` and `ns2.heliohost.org`, or 2) Manually create DNS records: a) Add an A record (IPv4) pointing to your server's IPv4 address b) Add an AAAA record (IPv6) pointing to your server's IPv6 address To find the correct IPs, please go to: Login > Plesk > Websites & Domains > [domain name] > and check at the bottom of the page. Please note there is a risk of data loss when main domains are changed. Even though your account is quite new, we try to make backups before changing main domains, so I did one in this case too. In case you already uploaded any files for the old domain and find you need them again, you can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backup If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/Account_Backups
  3. This support request is being escalated to our root admins who can verify the PayPal donation and assist you further.
  4. The donation has now been confirmed. You should receive an email confirming the thank you gift, and see the increased storage on your account the next time you login. Thanks for your donation. ? Some more details for other folks who may see this post: No other action is needed from donors once the donation is sent. Personally I think it's been lovely to read all the messages of support, so if you want to post a note on the forum saying you donated, we love to see it ❤️ but it's not required to do so in order for a donation to be processed. Once the donation is sent, the details are captured in the Donorbox system until they are confirmed. This usually happens within a couple of days after sending the donation. Once the donation has been verified, the extra storage is added to the account and/or the Java/JSP waitlist is updated, and an email is sent out to the donor confirming what's been done.
  5. I've removed kalydna-invest from your account. Please note there is a risk of data loss when domains are removed, since the folder for the domain inside Plesk will be deleted. I made a full account backup for you before I removed the domain, in case you need any of the old files. You can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backup If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/Account_Backups I've also added the overthinkers domain, please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work.
  6. This support request is being escalated to our root admins.
  7. Google Translate: Hi, I would like a new domain please. Please do not post multiple requests for the same thing. All staff are volunteers, and posting repeated requests for the same thing is spammy and not respectful of the free time we spend helping users out. Your request for a new domain has already been received under this thread, please see here for further updates: https://helionet.org/index/topic/63517-new-domain/ Closing this thread as a Duplicate.
  8. There is no hosting account associated with your forum account. Please provide your hosting account username so we can look up your account to add the domain. Alternatively, please post your request from the forum account linked to your hosting account. The way we can associate forum users to their respective hosting accounts is because the forum and hosting account will have the same email address attached. Thanks.
  9. Please let us know the full domain name you want added, including the top-level domain (TLD). If you're using HelioHost's domains, please specify if you want 'helioho.st' or 'heliohost.us', and if you've purchased a custom domain, please include the final .com, .net, etc. Once we have this information we can add the domain for you. You can read more information here about what details need to be provided when requesting a domain to be added: https://wiki.helionet.org/Addon_Domains
  10. Our Morty server already has a more recent database version that supports Drupal 11.1.1, so if you need to use 11 immediately, you could consider signing up for an account there. The database versions on Tommy (donor server) and Johnny (free server) will likely be upgraded as well, however there are no ETAs for when this may happen. All staff are volunteers so features/fixes/etc. are done in order of highest priority/most benefit for the largest number of users, when we find spare time around other life obligations. If you want to use Drupal on Tommy or Johnny, you can choose a lower version of it (I think the next one down worked for me when I tested it a while back) and it will work with the lower DB version available on those servers.
  11. I'm very sorry for your loss. I believe the email is retained so if the person changes their mind, they can recreate their account without needing to wait for the signup timeslots on Johnny or paying again for an account on Tommy. It was a feature introduced to help users recreate their accounts without needing admin intervention while we recovered from a Johnny server crash that was kept as a feature users found helpful in case they had second thoughts about deleting and wanted to come back. I guess you are suggesting that along with the questions asking the user that they're sure they want to delete their account, another checkbox or something is added so they can confirm that they 1) want their email removed from the system, and 2) confirm that they understand this means they'd need to start over from scratch (by waiting for Johnny to open, donating for Tommy, etc.) if they ever change their mind and want to come back? I have no idea the effort/difficulty of building something like this, but it sounds like a helpful feature for folks who are 100% certain they won't ever want a quick way to recreate an account, or who understand that if they do change their mind, they'd have to start over as if they had never had an account with us before. I've shared your idea in the staff channel, thank you for the suggestion. ?
  12. I've added that domain to your account for you. 13. Krydos can help you with this, so I've escalated this request for his attention.
  14. This support request is being escalated to our root admins who can help get all these accounts set up for your students. ?
  15. Of course. I've reset your account as requested. You should receive an email shortly so you can take the next steps to recreate it. In retrospect, we could have done it in a different order: In cases where you want a domain change and an account reset, during the account recreation process you would have the chance to choose a new username and/or a new domain so you could have changed domain that way. It makes no real difference this time since it's all been done within a very short timeframe. But for example if you had waited the 2 hours for the new domain to take full effect and only after that time asked for the reset, once you recreate the account there's a second 2 hour max wait time for the account to be recreated. By doing the reset first and then changing the domain as part of the account recreation, there's only the 1 x 2hr waiting period. Just in case this helps you for next time (or for anyone else searching the forum). ?

  18. I've escalated this for the attention of Krydos since it's a VPS issue so he'll be able to have a look for you.
  19. The reset feature will wipe your account so you can start fresh. If you might think you need any old files first, we recommend making a backup before doing a reset. After you ask for an account reset, you'll receive an email with a link to restart your account. You'll have 7 days to use that link, and if you don't use the link within 7 days, you'll need to signup for a brand new account. While you are restarting your account, you will be asked to enter the domain you want. If you want a different one this time, and it's available, it will be added to your account instead. Just to make sure you are aware: You are allowed up to 10 domains/subdomains on your account, so you don't necessarily need to delete the one on there now unless you really want to. We could just add another one for you, if you prefer. If this is something you'd want, a reset won't be needed, just let us know the domain/subdomain you want added.
  20. Yes it is. We even have a Node.js tutorial guide to help you build a quick example project: https://wiki.helionet.org/Node.js Node apps can be demanding on server resources, so we recommend you keep an eye on the load your account is causing here: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/
  21. Oh I see, sorry for my confusion. I have escalated this thread now so a root admin can delete your forum account Bartek2004 for you. They'll post an update in this thread once it's been done.
  22. The best way to get the tata2676 forum account deleted is to login with that username and make a post asking for us to delete it for you. Then you can update the email address on your Bartek2004 forum account to match the one on your hosting account.
  23. I have cancelled the first invite (sent to the email address with the . in it) and reissued the invite to the email address attached to forum username tata2676. Please check your email and use the new invite to recreate the account, and it should let you reclaim your old username.
  24. Try using the same email address but without any . or + before the @ part. Email address kaz.vee@allmyemails.com would be seen as a different email address than kazvee@allmyemails.com.
