[Solved] Stevie Cpanel Webmail Certificate Expired
Krydos replied to hrethel's topic in Customer Service
Maybe another admin already fixed this, but I see the self-signed certificates expiring on or around Sep 15 17:09:06 2013 GMT. Is anyone still having this issue? -
Any user can change their own domain by using http://www.heliohost.org/home/support/scripts/domain but since you've been unable to do so for over two weeks now I just went ahead and changed it for you.

[Solved] Using Ftp And Phpmyadmin Brings The Sites Down
Krydos replied to stgeorge's topic in Customer Service
If you're talking about 500 errors on php files when logging into phpmyadmin or cpanel or other process intensive activities it is likely your account is hitting the process limit. If your account is at or exceeding the process limit and a php file is requested it will return 500 internal server error because your account already is at or exceeding the maximum number of processes that it can run at a time. The solution is to not open multiple process intensive activities at the same time. Connect to ftp without anything else connected; connect to phpmyadmin without anything else connected; check your mail without anything else connected, etc. It kind of is a pain, I agree, but it's there to prevent abuse. I've been looking into ways to increase or remove this limit without opening a lot of new ways for abusers to take down the entire system. One account showing a few errors during website admin activity for a few minutes is better than the entire server crashing over and over. Certain people are able to trigger the automatic DDoS protection by using FTP. If this occurs your will not be able to connect to the server for the duration of your ban. I've never been able to replicate it myself for testing, but multiple people have reported that every time they try to download hundreds of files through FTP at the same time they get blocked. Uploading seems not to trigger it either. I suspect it has something to do with their ISP and connections not being closed properly. A solution is to use the cPanel backup utilities to create one large zipped file, and then download that through FTP. Obviously having automated DoS protection enabled is a good thing, but I'm willing to fine tune it if I can get some feedback on what normal usage does and does not trigger it. If you're talking about FTP causing the 500 internal server error on php files then the solution is to limit the concurrent ftp processes that your client uses. If you limit FTP to using 1 or 2 processes it won't cause that error anymore. By default a lot of FTP clients use as many processes as they can which would cause 500 errors. -
[Inactive] Help To Get Hotmail Domains Working
Krydos replied to jefry352's topic in Customer Service
If your account is on johnny then this link is where you add/edit mx records http://johnny.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/x3/mail/mx.html If you want us to add the records for you then you need to tell us what your username is, and what records need to be added. -
Sorry about the delay. I found four databases beginning with your toast_ that were not accessible through your account. They have been deleted.

Yeah, I know it's kind of excessive and undoubtedly a waste of money, but if someone is desperate enough to get their website working and their registrar was being dumb about it then this would be a solution to get it working.

registro.br is the only registrar that requires that. Basically our system checks each domain you try to park to see if you own it before it will add it. If you try to park a domain that you obviously don't own such as gmail.com then it will fail because the nameservers are not set to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org. This is a good thing. registro.br will only allow you to change your own domain's nameservers if the host already has that domain parked. cPanel, and every other decent website management software out there, will not allow a domain to be parked that you can't prove you own by setting the nameservers correctly. No other registrar in the entire world that I know of requires this. You own the domain; you paid for it; your registrar should allow you to type whatever you want into the nameserver fields because the domain is yours. I have seen this issue with registro.br dozens of times, and searching the internet it isn't just Heliohost. All domains registered through registro.br have this same issue. If enough people tell registro.br that their system is broken then maybe they will fix it. The solution is to contact registro.br support and ask them to manually set the nameservers to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org for you since they won't let you do it yourself. Another solution is to transfer your domain to a real registrar: http://www.thegeekstuff.com/2008/07/how-to-transfer-domain-name-to-new-registrar/

"Contributer" means that you have more than 20 (non spam) forum posts and requested wiki access. "Moderator" means that you have been helpful enough to be promoted to a member of the Heliohost staff. They can moderate the forums and have access to the account database so they can suspend, unsuspend, delete, and other things like that. "Admin" are the highest rank and have root access to all the servers.

Try logging in through http://cpanel.zkb.lt/ or unblock port 2082 then.

Glad your problem got solved! Please spare a few minutes to take our brief survey: http://feedback.heliohost.org/ Your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated.

Like hosterslice said stevie.heliohost.org is not listed. Besides most accounts in Stevie use this ip address anyways http://www.spamcop.net/w3m?action=checkblock&ip=216.218.192.170 which also isn't listed.

/home/leoji/public_html/streaming-rain/index.php was what triggered your account to be suspended.

It sounds to me like you have port 2082 blocked. Try logging in through this link through port 80 http://cpanel.sitdown.cu.cc/ This explains different ways to try logging in http://wiki.helionet.org/How_to_access_cPanel

What is the username for the new account that you created? I'm guessing this is no longer an issue because deathmax.tk is pointed to heliohost nameservers and the page loads fine, and the only traces I can find are associated with the deathmax username.

There is no account with the username 'infantex' anywhere in the system. There is no account anywhere in the system associated with the url 'infantex.com.mx'. However, it does appear as if there was recently an account on johnny with that domain, but the remnants of the domain have not been deleted yet. As far as not being able to sign up on stevie that is because signups are currently closed. I could open them for you, but there is a cpanel error that causes all new accounts to only half create. We're waiting for a cPanel representative to fix it or tell us how to fix it. Try creating a new account on johnny. I recommend using a main domain like infantex.heliohost.org and then adding the .com.mx later in case the remnants are still there when you try creating.

Please clear your cache.

If you see queued pages on more of those sites than two you should also try clearing your cache.

Don't know what you're asking exactly. You created the sub domains and the system automatically creates all the DNS stuff for you and the directory. You create the content that goes in that directory. I'm sure those two that aren't working yet were added later? Apart from reengineering the entire internet there isn't anything that can be done to speed anything up.

Severe Load And Mysql Time Out Occurring On Stevie
Krydos replied to n30n's topic in Customer Service
It could be. The symptoms certainly seem to fit. However, I suspended two accounts today that were each running really convoluted mysql queries that took ridiculous amounts of time to process repeatedly, and within minutes of those accounts being suspended the server load dropped to a reasonable level and everything started working again, so I'm inclined to believe that it wasn't just a coincidence. We do know that apache needs to be upgraded, but as you can probably imagine, it's a rather complicated procedure and stevie already has several more critical issues that should probably be fixed first. -
opportunity.heliohost.org is loading fine, and you don't specifically mention any other sites in your post so there isn't really anything I can do for you. DNS changes and additions always take 24-48 hours no matter what system you use. That's just the internet. There is no limit to how many sites you can have. Each person is allowed one account. Each account is limited to 500 mb, but as long as you don't break those limits you could have 5000 domains hosted on your account.
