  1. The optimal solution for groups that will always be logging in from the same location would be to just use one account, and then host your friends websites as addon domains. You can even create FTP accounts for each person that only have access to their particular addon domain and they can log in and modify their own files that way. Since we offer unlimited addon domains you can create as many separate websites as you want on the one account. Your accounts only use .74 MB, 11 MB, 11 MB, .50 MB, and 13 MB, so at that rate you could fit almost 70 similar websites in your 500 MB quota. The advantage to this solution is you wouldn't have to worry about getting suspended for having multiple accounts again, and it would only take one person to log into cPanel each month to keep all five websites active. The other option is for your friends to all create forum accounts and requests their own accounts to be unsuspended. The downside to this option is since you all log in from the same location the automated anti-multiple accounts system will likely harass you about it.

  3. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4239645/does-the-razor-view-engine-work-for-mono tl;dr = razor doesn't work with our version of mono. Upgrading mono is very near the top of the list of upcoming software upgrades though.
  4. PM received, and I have sent the appropriate report to att.net. That's about all we can do, and it's up to them whether they unblock us or not now. Let us know if sending emails from Stevie to @att.net addresses works or not after a few days.
  5. From the command line on a mac the command should be something like mysql --host=johnny.heliohost.org --user=jvicenci --database=jvicenci_test -p The -p option will prompt you on the following line to enter your password which is safer than saying something like --password=123abc since that saves it in your command history. On a lot of modern operating systems if you don't have access to a particular comand that you typed it will even prompt you on what the syntax is to install it and what package it's located in. For instance CentOS uses yum, and Ubuntu uses apt-get, etc etc. I'm not very familiar Macs, but I am with linux and Macs have a modified version of FreeBSD under the hood.
  6. Name GODADDY.COM, LLC Whois Server whois.godaddy.com Referral URL http://registrar.godaddy.com Status clientDeleteProhibited, clientRenewProhibited, clientTransferProhibited, clientUpdateProhibited Important Dates More Info Expires On February 01, 2014 Registered On February 01, 2013 Updated On February 01, 2013 Name Servers More Info ns1.heliohost.org 65.19.143.3 ns2.heliohost.org 64.62.211.133 Heliohost has purchased the domain in his name, and set the nameservers for him. He's not required to create a website with it if he doesn't want to. Some domains get held and paid for like this for years without actually having a website on them. Some people even purchase hundreds of domain names hoping that a company or something will come along and pay them thousands of dollars for the domain eventually. My guess is he's been too busy to set it all up yet. I just wanted to point out that Heliohost does in fact keep our end of the bargain and does actually give out free domains; it's not a scam or anything.
  7. Your account has been moved to an IP address that should be accessible from China.
  8. This time it was suspended for inactivity since he didn't ever log in after it was unsuspended for high load, and his last log in was in January. After reactivating his account it took me approximately four seconds to determine that if you don't want to be suspended again your best bet would be removing rapidleech. Technically rapidleech isn't illegal and you won't get suspended for having it installed, but when used it causes massive load and in my experience most people use it to download virus infested crap that will get your account suspended for malware too. Plus unless you have it hidden and secured really well any random person who finds it can download whatever malicious crap onto your account. In short, rapidleech is a really bad idea unless you enjoy having your account suspended constantly.
  9. To prove ownership of a Helionet account prior to deletion you must be able to accept and reply to an email sent to the address that you registered the account with. Failure to reply to the deletion verification email means that the account will not be deleted. Emails have been sent to the accounts. Once a reply is received the accounts will be deleted.
  10. I don't think Microsoft runs the email for AT&T. From what I can find it looks like yahoo runs the email for them if anyone does, and yahoo isn't blocking us as far as I can tell. I don't have an AT&T email, nor can I create one because everything I found says that they are not accepting new signups. Do you have an AT&T email address that I can send a test mail to? If I can see the full headers and everything of the returned email or lack thereof it would help troubleshoot this issue. If you own a problematic AT&T email address and don't mind my sending you a test email you may PM the email address to me to keep it from prying bot eyes, but if you do send me a PM make sure you post on this thread letting me know I have the new message because otherwise I'll never check them or see it.

  13. Your site should be visible in China now.
  14. Try creating your addon domain now. Let us know if you're still unable to add more domains.
  15. It looks like your cloudlfare settings are wrong. I would recommend changing your nameservers to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org to get your domain working. Then once you can load your page without cloudflare set up cloudflare again and it can copy the working configuration from the functional DNS settings.

  17. The admin who maintained that site was hit by hurricane Sandy, and he survived but we haven't seen him too much since then. I was kind of figuring it'd be best for him to update the links and his site since it doesn't belong to me and it was a project he took on himself, but that co.cc thing has been down for quite a while. I poked around on his account and I think this http://cl58.tk/services/heliohost/v2/faq.html is the newest version of the FAQ. I fixed the link on this page http://wiki.helionet.org/Terms Let us know if you find anymore broken links. Plus if you get 20 posts and are a member of Helionet for two weeks or more you could request wiki access http://www.helionet.org/index/forum/79-wiki-access-requests/ and edit the wiki pages yourself. Welcome to Heliohost. That perl cgi should work just fine, but cgi in general can be kind of touchy to get working the first time because all the permissions and file encoding and syntax all has to be perfect. If you can't figure it out feel free to post and we can help you. Chat can be kind of dead sometimes especially in the middle of the night, but since Heliohost is a community more than a company it means that users are here to help other users. A lot of people ask really simple common questions, and it doesn't take much hosting or even computer knowledge to help them. The more users help out with the easy questions the more time it will free up for the admins to work on bigger issues or roll out new features. All of the Heliohost staff started out exactly like you are now, and when we notice how helpful certain people are we sometimes offer them promotions so they can be more helpful.

  20. Your account was suspended for the following reason: Malware. 1 file(s). PHP.Shell-42 FOUND That means that there are some malware files found on your account. For your safety and to protect your website from potential further corruption the account has been suspended. To find the infected files we recommend making a backup of your site, download the backup file to your computer, and scan the backup using a reputable virus and malware scanner. If you are you certain that it is a false-positive, we strongly encourage you to file a false positive form here: http://cgi.clamav.net/sendvirus.cgi Your account should be unsuspended now, but keep in mind that this is a temporary unsuspension. You have 24 hours starting at the time of this post to clean your account of any and all malicious files or your account will be resuspended.

  23. You can and should do #3 on your link. This is something you can do yourself for each domain you own that you intend to send email from. Here's a link to get you started: http://stevie.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/x3/zoneedit/advanced.html Then select your domain (if you have more than one), select TXT from the drop down box and enter your values. It might not solve your gmail issues, but it won't hurt.
  24. The other thread wasn't closed prematurely. ICE IT unsuspended your account, and it was active and working fine for roughly 36 hours. The reason it's suspended now is because you never logged in while it was active, and when a staff member unsuspends an account it doesn't count as your 30 day login so then it got suspended again, but this time for inactivity which you can fix yourself. Also, the way topics getting closed on the forums works is if it's flagged as [solved] the thread stays open for 48 hours for users to add additional information to the thread or report that it isn't actually solved after all. If there are no new posts for 48 hours then the thread is closed to keep the forum clean and tidy. If someone posts on a solved thread every 48 hours or less it can stay open forever. Your account was suspended for inactivity. To reactivate your account, please visit http://www.heliohost.org/home/support/scripts/renew. If you are still seeing the Account Suspended page after renewing your account, please clear your cache.
