The way a denial of service attack works is by overloading the server with a large number of connections preventing any legitimate traffic from being able to connect. Sometimes when regular users have a large number of connections, in your case 41, the server suspects you of trying to DoS it and blocks you.

I have never used outlook 2013, but I recently set up thunderbird and it was kind of tricky which surprised me because my phone connects effortlessly. Depending on how strong your password was I guess it's possible someone brute forced it and deleted it. I really don't have any other ideas. If you need help restoring your site from your latest backup just let us know.

Why not just use cron jobs to run your scheduled mysql events?
