For anyone who searches and finds this, please do not upload your ssl certificate to public_html. If you don't keep your private.key file private then SSL doesn't work. If you upload it to /home/<username>/private.key then people won't be able to download it. I've said this a bunch of times and people keep uploading it to public_html. Please do not upload your SSL certificate to public_html. SSL only works if you keep the private.key file private. That's why it's called private.key. Certificate.crt is fine to share with everyone.
