Cannot login after renewing inactive account
wolstech replied to stewguy's topic in Customer Service
We've had that happen to a few other people as well who restored an archived account...the password doesn't restore correctly and subsequently needs reset before the account works. Please check the email associated with your account for a link to reset your password. -
The account looks fine on our end, though it looks like you may have a broken node.js app installed on it (which is what would cause the Phusion Passenger error currently showing on your domain). That shouldn't affect logging in though. When you log into https://heliohost.org/login/ do you receive an error message?

Our servers are all physically connected to the same network switch in a single rack in Fremont, California, USA, so they're all going to have the same latency. We don't have multiple locations or regions to serve from, so every IP we offer will offer the same speed regardless of the one assigned to you. The only reason you may need one range over another is if you're in a country where certain ranges are blocked due to censorship.

You'll need a Lily account in order to run ASP.NET, as the Plesk boxes all run Linux. Lily is kind of like an extension of the Plesk boxes, it does not have a control panel and so cannot stand on its own. You will have two accounts (Lily for the ASP app, Johnny for everything else like databases and email). We have to set up the Lily half for you, then you just upload files via FTP and can configure options by using the web.config file). Would you like me to set up a Lily account for you (you'll receive a PM to the forum account associated with the user aostech when this is set up, it can't be sent here via the support email since the support email is public)? Also, you'll be the first to use .NET 5 on our service (all of our current users are using .NET Core 3.1 or CLR 4.8, one user is hosting classic non-.NET ASP too), so if you decide to host here, we might need to work through some bugs to get it working. It is installed, but has never been used unlike all the other versions before it.

Yes, $5 per 1000MB, so an additional $10 should max you out if you already have 3GB. Go ahead and donate (https://heliohost.org/donate/), then post the transaction ID of the donation here and we'll get the space added for you -
We can also change the username of the forum account if desired. No need to delete it if you plan to make a new one.

He also emailed us. I responded to the email thread for this issue.

Changed. It can take up to two hours to take effect. Also, considering the services you offer on your main website and the domain you picked (containing "smm"), just a reminder that while legitimate marketing services are allowed, our Terms of Service does prohibit auto-likers, follower bots, smm panels, and similar abusive tools.

Domain changed (the server was fixed early yesterday morning).
-
There are none, what he posted basically means your data is lost. If you don't have your own backups, you'll need to start over.
-
Yeah, your account failed to create (it was half created...account system showed it and said it was active, but the server didn't actually have a matching account for you). I just changed it to a Johnny account in the database and retried it. Try logging in now using the same email and the password you gave for the original Tommy account. Note that the main domain was blank due to the failure, so I made it https://allyn51.helioho.st for you. It may take some time to work. If you want a different domain let me know and I'll change it.
-
Krydos should be able to resend that for you.
-
Krydos has to do this since the account needs to be moved (I'm assuming this is still possible since I see both Tommies online).
-
I'll have Krydos look but I do know there was extensive disk corruption due to the hard shutdown the server took when the attack hit. Krydos was able to get the server to boot, but it took a substantial amount of repair work including file system and partition table repair. I would not be surprised if they were lost as a result of the extensive repairs that had to be made.
-
I've disabled your domain and re-enabled it, lets see if it starts working again when Apache restarts next. If not, I'll escalate to Krydos. EDIT: Didn't even need to wait. I just put a test file in the root for that domain and its working already.

Done. Thanks again for that VERY generous donation

The backups were lost in the hack and are no longer available.
-
We can't change the domain while the server is down. We'll do this later once Tommy is working again.
-
Your account cannot be renewed at the moment because it was hosted on Tommy, which is down due to its host hardware Eddie being hacked. We're working on fixing that, but there is no ETA on when it will be restored. Please see this News post for more information: https://helionet.org/index/topic/54956-eddie-server-hacked/
-
Yep. The TL;DR is the host hardware for the server you're on got hacked and now has ransomware...we're in the process of recovering it and moving Tommy to another box for the time being, but don't know when it'll be done. If you'd like to delete the Tommy account and get an invite for Johnny (which is up), let us know and we would be glad to do that. Since you donated you can always ask to go back to Tommy later if you wish once it's fixed.

It's an internal server component, I believe it's used for hosting nodejs (?) (might be django/flask but Python is just plain CGI to my knowledge...) I have no idea why a Wordpress site would experience this error considering WP is written in PHP, but the error seems to have gone away regardless. I see a WP site that's in maintenance mode.
