http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/16384-out-of-tmp-space-joomla-error/ You're not the only one... I believe /var and /usr normally have warnings on them. I've never seem them run out.

One of my apps is having issues with uploads due to this. This has happened before. If I remember right, last time around it was caused by a user running poorly written software that didn't clean up after itself. An admin will need to empty it.

[Solved] Add On Domain Still Queued
wolstech replied to aulc1344's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
columbusaltnewsradio.info is showing a Wordpress error (wp-config.php is missing). Try clearing your cache again or perhaps use a different browser or computer. If you still a queued page after that, see if you can try from a different internet connection (e.g. 3G on a smartphone). -
Whatever they use is far from 100% effective. Looking in the suspended forum shows that multiple accounts is quite common as a reason for suspension. I've personally always wondered how they flag the multiple accounts that get suspended, but as is the case with such things, posting it publicly would probably reduce or eliminate its effectiveness.
-
I'm not a moderator, just another user, so I don't really know either way. It is quite common though for people to not realize they need permission for two accounts, so I usually mention it when I see it.
-
Do you have permission for two accounts? You're limited to one account unless you have permission, and it's usually one account per server when you have permission. If you don't have permission, those are going to be suspended if they aren't already... Johnny is not fixed yet. Still showing the cPanel license message as of this post.
-
This is a known ongoing issue with Johnny. Please see this topic full of other people with the same issue.
-
It's an ongoing issue. Please see the other topic over here for more information. That topic is marked as solved, but it is in fact still broken. I tried 3 PCs, and another ISP (even though my ISP doesn't cache sites, I tried my 3G service as well).
-
It was a national holiday yesterday; I'd imagine this is part of the reason it isn't fixed yet. Also, we only really have 1 active administrator (Krydos) who can fix this particular problem. The other admins haven't been around in quite a while. It should also be mentioned that everyone who provides support does so for free.
-
Your account is not suspended, but the cPanel license is expired again. It is not caused by anything you've done, but rather is a server issue. Everyone on Johnny is affected. An admin will fix it shortly. Two others with the same issue: http://www.helionet....rvers-are-down/ and http://www.helionet....se-site-cpanel/
-
The license error is because the cP license is just expired again. It happens on both servers, once every few weeks and might as well be considered normal. Not sure why it happens, but it does. The websites on the server are still up. You just can't use cPanel (and apparently webdisk) until the license is updated. An admin will likely fix it shortly. As for webdisk, the license error may be the reason webdisk failed. You didn't cause the error. Everyone on Johnny is seeing it right now.
-
First, please don't shout. Second, it's not down, the cP license is just expired again. It happens on both servers, once every few weeks and might as well be considered normal. Not sure why it happens, but it does. The websites on the server are still up. You just can't use cPanel until the license is updated. An admin will likely fix it shortly.

An admin typically won't reset an account for you. More than likely, they will give you the exact same instructions you stated yourself, delete it and make a new one. Everyone has to do it this way unfortunately, and that includes waiting for things like registration and configuring of a domain. I wouldn't worry about someone taking your username, the odds of that are ridiculously small. Even if it's a common word or something it's very unlikely to happen.

Contact your registrar's support and ask them to change the NS records for you. Some companies require you ask to have them changed. If they can't change them, an admin or mod would be able to tell you more about using Heliohost without the nameservers if possible (probably something like an A record and main domain change). I'm not familiar with it so I can't explain. What I can say is that some functions in cpanel won't work without the nameservers.
-
The queued page is normal when the server doesn't know what to do with your domain. When set up correctly, it should go away within 24 hours. Don't use CNAME records. On the main rnf.nu domain, you have two NS records and an A record (they can be seen here). Edit the NS records for rnf.nu to use ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org instead of hostcontrol.com. Also remove the A record pointed at 65.19.143.3. Then log into your account here, add rnf.nu as an addon domain in cPanel, and wait 24 hours. Once that works, you can create forum.rnf.nu through cpanel. Do not create any records for that subdomain anywhere. cPanel and Heliohost's nameserver will do it for you when you add a subdomain.

[Solved] Java Not Working For My Account Though It Was Activated
wolstech replied to john075's topic in Customer Service
Did your account get suspended for inactivity at some point? Java is removed from those accounts to make room for other users. If that is the case, you can request it again. -
Your account was suspended for inactivity as you suspected. You can renew an inactive account yourself by using this script: http://www.heliohost.org/home/support/scripts/renew I've already renewed it for you this time. As for your password, try resetting it again now that your account is unsuspended.

Heliohost has been free for years, and there are no plans to convert to a paid hosting company.
-
I'm running some software that uses it to read XML from Twitter with no issues. What leads you to believe it is disabled?

The database system at GoDaddy is one of the more screwy I've had the displeasure of using. Your difficulty with it is unfortunately typical :(/&--#62;/&--#62; I had similar issues when I managed that site for someone. It's not you, it's them. Not only do they assume you know what you're doing, they assume you know what they are doing, which makes things difficult when they explain it 3 different ways, nothing is in one place, and everything you've ever known about a web host suddenly doesn't apply to their non-standard system. Most Linux-based hosts work very similarly to HH minus a few things like the database host name. GoDaddy (and likely other Windows/IIS hosts)...not so much. Yes. Everything might be a bit slow the first time after you do it, that is normal. The suspended/queued pages tends to get stuck in people's cache for some reason, and people don't realize their site is working. Also, no need to apologize, it's a common issue; we post an awful lot of "Please clear your cache" messages around here... You're welcome
-
As someone who used to manage a site on GoDaddy for someone a year or two back...I can't believe that I didn't realize from the nameservers that it was GD you were using. They're fine as a domain registrar but no good as a web host. Their default configuration is Windows IIS with a whole boatload of non-standard settings. Databases are a nightmare (as you're discovering), as is running anything that needs an .htaccess file. And for Stevie, how long registration stays open varies everyday depending on how fast people register. If you register right after 8AM, you should be fine. Johnny is down a lot, Stevie isn't.
-
No problem. As for Stevie's signups, they do fill up quickly every day. They re-open every night at midnight (U.S. Pacific time). Last night they were open for just over 6 hours before they closed. You can see when they're open here: http://heliohost.grd.net.pl/monitor/ (The top line under registrations is Stevie). Also, since it appears you're trying to install WordPress, you might want to switch to linux hosting. WordPress and Windows servers don't go together very well (things like pretty URLs won't work right).
-
I see "Error establishing a database connection" for robgregg.co.uk. Your domain's nameservers aren't set to Heliohost anymore, so you shouldn't be seeing anything from Heliohost. Please try clearing your cache. Also, if you liked Heliohost but need stable hosting, you might want to consider Stevie instead. Stevie's uptime is 99% compared to Johnny's often-down reliability. Johnny is the experimental server. We give people more room to use resources, and more features to use on it. Because of this, it is also more apt to bogging down under load than Stevie is.

The cPanel usernames aren't an issue, since everyone posts them on here anyway when their account gets suspended or something breaks. MySQL databases use the same format names too. Also, the server blocks remote access to your MySQL databases unless you explicitly allow it in cPanel, unlike Postgres which allows it and as far as I know doesn't permit it to be restricted.
