  1. Unblocked. And yes, the password to access SFTP is the same as cPanel.
  2. We use Apache+mod/WSGI I believe...what you listed (nginx+uwsgi) are basically the alternative choices for what we use. Nginx is just an alternative to Apache. The problem is that nginx isn't as widely used as Apache, and doesn't support certain things without a ton of extensions. It's configuration is also entirely different. In fact, there's a bunch of programs that simply won't work on anything other than Apache. Also, cPanel is designed around Apache, so not something we can change without a ton of third-party addons that would just break and complicate everything. WSGI from my understanding is a module used to run Python/Django websites through Apache. The uwsgi you mentioned appears to be the nginx equivalent.
  3. Krydos would know more than I do about how it should be done on Linux. If you're on Windows, there's guides out there. You need a web server (or at least PHP) already on your PC. Xampp is probably the most well known Apache/PHP server setup for Windows, and if you want, you can get a portable version. you could then look at something like this for setting up Composer: http://webdevzoom.com/how-to-install-composer-on-windows/
  4. That command just defines "composer" as a bash command alias...which won't do much good since you can't access SSH. Composer requires SSH or php's exec() functions to be useful, neither of which we allow for security reasons. We get requests for Composer all the time, but as of now, there is no secure way for us to support it. What you can do is set up Composer on your local PC and run your composer commands there. Then, upload the resulting file structure and it will run on our servers. The one time I've had to use composer, this was what I did and it worked perfectly (just had to set paths/DB settings in the application config file). Composer is just an assembly tool for software, and is not required for the assembled software to function.
  5. It's because we're a shared host. Django is mostly found on VPSes or other dedicated systems where it's the only thing being run, and it's probably only serving a few websites in such installations. You're on a server with over a thousand other people, so you're competing for resources with all of them. We also have a lot more django users than many hosts, if only because we're one of a few who even support it (and quite possibly the only free one). I use PHP pretty much exclusively, and that's also noticeably slower here than it is on my home server. Pretty much any web technology is going to be that way when you use shared hosting. Paid hosts will be a little faster because they have more hardware and as a result fewer users per server, but the same concept applies to pretty much all of them.
  6. Unblocked. Also, if you use https://heliohost.org/login/ this won't happen again even if you're suspended or use the wrong password too many times
  7. Considering the scan managed to spam your contact form, have you added anti bot protection to your form? Escalating to have this unthrottled.
  8. Try creating the subdomain feshispen.feshibaba.heliohost.org in cPanel. After that, see if the domain shows up under addon domains. Every addon domain has a subdomain that goes with it. Usually when these fail on Johnny, it's because the subdomain didn't get created.
  9. What domains are you trying to add?
  10. Which is fairly common for corporate networks...work has a firewall that’s blocking it. It’s a way for them to reduce the odds of company data leaving the network. I have to use the insecure cpanel login on port 80 at one of my jobs for the same reason.
  11. I would recommend deleting that email account. For some reason it keeps getting compromised. None of our other users have reported this issue, so I would suspect that something you access that account from has malware on it that's stealing the password. Please fix the issue quickly. Unsuspended.
  12. You're suspended for Spam because we received an abuse report for your account. Can you explain the below message (content shown at bottom)? We have received a complaint about your account. 13. That account doesn't have Java on it. You need to request it in cPanel and wait for it to become active before you can deploy a War. Be aware that since you're on Johnny, you're looking at a several month wait. You might want to move to Tommy instead. His wait to get Java is only a few hours.
  14. Krydos would know better than anybody... Escalating.
  15. Unblocked. Also, if you use https://heliohost.org/login/, this won't happen.
  16. It's just a bunch of folders inside public_html. You can put as many projects as you wish on your account, just put the entire thing inside its own folder instead of directly in public_html.
  17. Mac software will NOT run on Windows, and cannot be made to run on Windows. They are two entirely different operating systems. You’ll need to find different software.
  18. It's due to the fact that Johnny is severely overloaded. For reference, cPanel was designed to handle ~400 accounts on a server. We have over 5,000 on Johnny, and he creates and deletes over 100 per day. cPanel themselves have even admitted that what we've done has taken their product to extremes well beyond what they test for, and what any of their other customers do with it. Take one look at the history for Johnny on http://heliohost.grd.net.pl/monitor/ and you'll understand... Thank you for the feedback. This is something we're working to address, as we know it's been an issue here in the past. Our Wiki is in the process of getting an overhaul to help with documentation, and I think there's a few changes planned for the FTP information shown in cPanel as well (we're going to show the SFTP settings since they tend to work most reliably).
  19. The WAR is actually deployed from the same page where you requested the Java support. Once the Java becomes active, you'll see a form to deploy the war file. Be aware that self-service WAR deployments are a beta feature on Tommy, and may take several hours to deploy. If they get stuck for more than 24 hours, let us know and we'll check the log files to see why it failed (more often than not, stuck deployments are caused by a corrupt archive or opening too many SQL connections in the program you're deploying).
  20. He had two accounts, so actually he did need to delete that.
  21. You can't use the normal registration with a donation. If you have an account already, you have to post here as you've done. Otherwise, you have to wait for a special email with a link to make a Tommy account. Two things here: You're only allowed to have one account. Creating more than one violates our Terms of Service and will get all of them suspended.Mlit77 appears to have been deleted, so you've already fixed your problem Please post your donation's Transaction ID so we can find your donation. Once you post that, I can have a root admin move the account mlepage to Tommy for you.
  22. Did you put it in your cgi-bin folder? If so, what happens when it's viewed in a browser? Be aware also that a cron job can only run twice a day, so if you need it to run more frequently, you must develop and set it up to be usable by a browser so it can be called from another server.
