Yes you can. Disk space is given of the donation thank you gifts, so you can either donate to us through the link on our website, or send the money directly from PayPal to admin@heliohost.org. Either way, please post the transaction ID here after you pay so we can find it and add the space. Please keep in mind that the maximum you can get is 5000MB, after which you would need a VPS instead, which is a paid service with a monthly fee.

The server is still out for rebuild with no ETA at this time. If you would like to move to another server for free, please create a new account on Johnny or Tommy tonight when registration opens, then let me know the username and I'll drop the archive from the Ricky account in your home directory for you. If you're a donor, I can restore the account on Tommy. The account will look like it did when it was on Ricky. No it is not. cPanel doesn't support anything newer than the versions currently in use. For stability reasons, we are only able to use the cPanel-approved software versions, which typically lag several versions behind the latest release of the software.

Yes it's possible, others have done it. I'm not sure what the process would be for this though. I think you sign up on the website, but don't pay on paypal. You can then post here with the bitcoin tx info so he can find the payment and set you up... One thing to consider though is that unlike paypal, you can't easily do a recurring payment with bitcoin, so you'll need to manually re-up every so often. Each time you do, you'll need to provide us the tx info so we can assign the payment to your VPS and extend the date.

You have to delete something from your account. Check the tmp folder, there's often a lot of data for the metrics software in there. If you don't need your metrics data, you can delete everything in the folder. Also, if you use the cPanel file manager, empty the trashcan. Beyond that though, you would have to purchase more disk space. It's $5/1000MB with a max of 5000MB per person.

Invite sent. Thank you for the donation You won't be able to use the same username though because the invite went to the paypal email address which doesn't match the forum account with the same name. If you want the username to match on the forum and server, I'll either need to rename the forum account temporarily, or change its email address to match your donation. Which would you prefer?

Spinning HDDs. We don't provide any official guarantees, but I can say that the uptime is much better than the shared hosting assuming you configure your server correctly, since the only thing that really affects a VPS's uptime is network connection failure or the OS crashing. The only outages you'd experience are scheduled maintenance (which is announced) or problems with our upstream provider Hurricane Electric having network or power issues. VPSes come empty with a bare operating system, you have to install everything yourself to run whatever you wish to host. For the OS, you want to pick Linux (Ubuntu most likely) unless you have a license for Windows Server. We don't provide the license for the Windows option, it comes with a 120 day trial version, after which you have to purchase a license for Windows Server Standard, which is nearly $800 from most reputable sellers (you cannot use the Essentials edition as it has license restrictions that cannot be met using a cloud VPS).

I don't see any account for you. Do keep in mind when you delete your account that it is not instant and can take an hour or more. The account will think it's inactive until it fully deletes.

Depends what you want to change it to. If you want to use your own domain, use this: http://heliohost.org/scripts/domain.php The domain you pick needs to be registered and have its name servers set to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org in order to function. If you want to use a free .heliohost.us domain, post the domain you want here and I'll set it up. The script won't work for the free subdomains.
