I would recommend testing your script locally before putting it on our servers if high load is a concern. That is the best way I can think of.

It's loading fine for me. Try clearing your cache again and using Ctrl+F5 to reload the page.

Our servers are set to Pacific Time (-0800). Be sure you are converting the time accordingly.

I think Google purposely ignores meta tags due to the ability of them being abused.

I would recommend using the FileZilla FTP client. Windows Explorer isn't the best for connecting to Unix-based systems.

public_html is the one to use. www is a symlink to public_html created by cPanel, it doesn't work well though. There is a software section in cPanel towards the bottom that includes a hit counter. You could also Google it, there are many out there free for use.

The gem dependency issues would be caused by something not being installed. What gems do you need installed?
