Alright. I'll unsuspend you and check tomorrow. A lot of your content was marketing/trailers anyway and that stuff is generally fine. Remove the downloads and put a notice saying that the site does not make any content available for download. We're pretty flexible with resource use. Stevie is actually the stricter of the two, and if you're good there you can't be that heavy on resources. If the server bogs down, it just starts suspending sites on its own (heaviest users first) until it's back to normal again.

Just posting links doesn't matter. It qualifies as "making available" copyrighted content instead of outright hosting it, but it's still illegal in the USA where we are based. We get takedown requests for much less (e.g. I had one for a single link to some random word document the other day). I am willing to unsuspend it for 24 hours, however during that time you must remove all links to the downloads and other copyrighted content or it will be permanently suspended. We do not allow "backups" / warez links on our service. You're welcome to link to official demos/downloads (provided the authors allow them to be offered elsewhere) or freeware, but your website cannot reference or link to software containing patches/cracks/serials/keygens or other modifications that make the game playable without paying for it. If the download would be useless without such modifications, it cannot be made available. Do you want to do this? I assume you lost other accounts? What you are doing is illegal, so I'm not surprised. Most hosts will kick warez sites to the curb pretty quickly.

That issue is usually a setting in Wordpress that needs to be changed. My minecraft site had the same problem. However, it doesn't matter much though since you're getting suspended for copyright infringement. "Backup" / warez sites are not allowed on our service.

The cpanel username shouldn't matter for the software you're developing. It's just a username for logging into cpanel. You're referring to the main domain, which you can reuse immediately. Nonetheless, I've scheduled those accounts for deletion. They should be gone within 24 hours.

How To Set Up An Google's Smtp
wolstech replied to codename25's topic in Website Management and Coding
Using external SMTP will eliminate the restriction since the mail will come from Google. I can't help you set it up though since the procedure varies depending upon the software you are using (it's usually a setting in the software's config file or admin settings). External SMTP cannot be used with cPanel's mailing tools. Also, if I remember right, Google's mail servers are secured, so older software that doesn't support secure SMTP and authentication will not work with them. -
We don't have any plans to update right now. When it finally does happen, it'll likely be updated on Johnny first. In the mean time, the only choice for using SSL is a dedicated IP address.
-
Use https instead of specifying the port number. Also, our server does NOT support SNI at this time. Despite apache's version, it will not work due to a cpanel limitation. Cpanel requires 11.38 or newer, we have 11.34...
-
If they want an account, they should make and manage it themselves. You, your information, your internet connection, and your content should not be involved. They will need to use a different cpanel username from the suspended accounts when they sign up again. If you're all working together on a project or something, I'd recommend you share an account instead.

@Byron: That was me, I was posting as you posted. Like Byron said, sb should be unsuspended. As for deletions, they'll delete themselves in time. I did change the main domains on the other accounts so you can add those domains to your active account as parked/addon if you wish. If you really need these accounts deleted immediately for some reason, let us know and we can remove them.

The mysql downtime on Stevie is normal due to damage from February, although it has improved in recent months. Stevie's load has been quite high lately though. If you were experiencing a lot of complete downtime (i.e. everything was down), that was caused by failing nameservers that have since been fixed.

[Solved] Suspended: Lincoln9
wolstech replied to HTMLincoln's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
That account is not suspended. If you see a suspended page, please clear your cache. -
Or Chrome (v6+ if used on Windows XP). If you're using IE on Windows XP it won't work, but you've got bigger issues (e.g. sitting duck for malware). There's no good reason to be using IE on XP. There really isn't any reason to not support it nowadays seeing every major browser supports it properly on Windows Vista and newer.

This was asked about a while back. I forget what happened, but I remember a discussion about SNI not being properly supported by a large chunk of browsers used to access our service.
-
I'd suggest you try installing it manually, but I can't find any instructions that don't need shell access. It's possible this program is just not compatible.

It's more because NS1 was fixed, which was causing those 3 hour downtimes over the past week. It was crashing and took 3 hours to restart. NS2 was also fixed (it had been down continuously for 8 months due to a configuration problem), so it should have some uptime now. However, Johnny load makes it go down a lot.

Error 1045 is access denied. Try changing your password here: http://johnny.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/x3/passwd/index.html When changing it, make sure the box for "allow MySQL password change" is checked. After that, log out and back in, then try using phpmyadmin again.

NS2 hasn't worked correctly since March. The root admin (the company's owner actually, not Krydos) was messing with both NS's last night...NS1 should be more reliable and NS2 is no longer crashed but is down much of the time anyway because it shares a server with Johnny. One way to get this to work is to keep trying since it was fixed yesterday. At some point you'll find a time when both are up. Alternately, ask the registrar 's support if they can make the change without those checks. Registrars that have tests like these often don't set up correctly here, and you have to ask their support to change it for you instead (tell them you're aware of the broken NS2). If their support won't/can't change it, you can always use A records and change your main domain instead.

Wait until it's fixed. I'd recommend setting up CloudFlare in the mean time since it will let your visitors see a cached version of your site even when we are down. Interactive things like editing content in a blog won't work when we're down, but visitors will still be able to read anything you already put up on your site. This issue was discussed by the mods and admins a few days ago. However, Krydos is the admin who fixes this stuff, and he hasn't been around in over a week, so I'm not sure if he's seen that discussion / is aware of these issues.

It's likely because our nameservers are broken. See here: http://heliohost.grd.net.pl/monitor/ If both of the nameserver bars are orange or red, pretty much none of our services will work. NS2 hasn't worked since March (just a solid orange line), and NS1 is experiencing lots of downtime (which was what NS2 did before it decided to fail entirely). I couldn't even get on this board for most of yesterday, let alone my website. Uptime Robot puts my site at 78.1% uptime over 3 days on my Stevie account, that's a massive drop from 98.2% ~10 days ago.

[Solved] Account Suspended: Naijatechnet
wolstech replied to Naijatechnet's topic in Escalated Requests
Krydos hasn't been around in a week or two (it's somewhat odd for it to be that long, but it does happen sometimes). He'll get to it when he can. -
Those HTML tags at the very top should be after the php block. It needs to be like this:
-
That website is working fine. The nameservers were down around the time you posted this. We've been having issues with them lately, and when they fail, every site we host appears down.
-
This license issue usually happens every few weeks on both servers, and is considered normal. An admin typically fixes the license pretty quickly, but sometimes it takes time.
-
The quotes around all of the items except uid in the VALUES set are missing to start. Can you also post the entire text of the error? It usually says an approximate location of where the mistake is.
-
Your account has been renewed.
