[Solved] Server update using git takes long time
KazVee replied to an4s911's topic in Escalated Requests
This topic is not marked as [Solved] so it's probably fine to ask here since it's a related request to the original problem you were having. ? Since you only have the 1 domain on your account now, we have all the info we need to escalate the request. Once a root admin gives you WSGI Control Access, they'll update this thread to let you know. -
Yes, your IP has changed. Not because Tommy's IP changed but because you've been moved to the Morty server. ? Here's the news post announcing that Morty was ready to start accepting the first batch of accounts: https://helionet.org/index/topic/63011-morty-beta/ You should have received 2 emails about the account move. If you didn't receive our emails, please make sure you have a valid contact email address listed on your profile inside Plesk. I'd also recommend you use the same email address on your forum account, since this is how we verify account owner identity to make domain changes or account resets that are requested on the forum. Since you've already found the new IP to use (inside Plesk > Websites & Domains > [domain name] > bottom of the page), please also make sure to use `morty.heliohost.org` as the server name.

Since you said you wouldn't be using the `radodimitrov13` domain anymore, I've removed it from your account. Each domain slows down the Apache restart times on the server a little bit, so if a domain won't be used, it's best to remove it from the account. However later on if you want to add it back (if still available), or you want another domain you'll be using, please let us know. We allow up to 10 domains on an account. ? I've changed the domain on your account for you. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache There is a risk of data loss when main domains are changed, so I made a full backup for you before I made the changes. If you discover you need any files from the old `radodimitrov13` domain, you can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backup If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/plesk/account-backups

Yes, you've done all you need to do beforehand in order to ask for an account on Lily. ? What will happen next is that our root admin Wolstech will set up your Lily account for you when he has a chance. He will update this thread, as well as message you with the login details, once he's set things up for you.
-
Hello! I've added that for you. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache

[Solved] Un-suspension request
KazVee replied to starlingshost's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
Your account was suspended on Nov 23rd for High server load: 100.40 GB memory. You can read more here about how account load is calculated: https://wiki.helionet.org/accounts/suspension-policy#high-server-usage If you're not sure what caused the excess load, let us know what software you are running and we can try to suggest ways to reduce the server resources being used by your account. WordPress and Node are top reasons for users to get their accounts suspended, so if it's either of those please search our Wiki for hints on using those and staying within account limits: https://wiki.helionet.org/ I have unsuspended your account, please give it a few minutes to fully reinstate. Please keep an eye on your account load here: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/ -
There are a few tips here (https://wiki.helionet.org/common-errors/ssl-certificate) that usually resolve SSL/TLS issues, but after trying these if the problem still persists please let us know.

I've changed the addon domain on your account as requested. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new addon domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cache In the meantime, please either: - Point your new addon domain to the HelioHost nameservers: `ns1.heliohost.org` and `ns2.heliohost.org`, or - Create an A record and point it to the IP address for the server you're on. You can find the IP address to use inside Plesk > Websites & Domains > [domain name] > and check at the bottom of the page. Please note that there is a risk of data loss when domains are changed, since we needed to remove the old `helioho.st` domain and add the new `.com.ng` domain. I made a full backup of your account for you before I made the changes, in case you need any files from the old `helioho.st` domain. You can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backup If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/plesk/account-backups

I've escalated your request, Wolstech will be able to assist you with this.

Marking this thread as [Solved] as per the forum report. By the way, the report post feature is more for spam or flagging issues that need immediate attention (for example if someone else posted their password/personal data by accident). To ask us to mark a request as solved next time, please just pop a new post in the thread to let us know. ? We also have a help page here in case you encounter SSL issues in the future: https://wiki.helionet.org/common-errors/ssl-certificate

[Solved] My website says that it has exceeded daily limits
KazVee replied to drrobin's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
Our root admins looked into this further and the load was caused by SFTP idling all day long. To stop you getting suspended overnight, they have added a `killall -u drrobin` every 10 minutes to force your SFTP to close its connection. You may need to refactor your app so that when it needs to upload something, it creates a new connection, because just holding it open all day is causing too much load. -
[Solved] My website says that it has exceeded daily limits
KazVee replied to drrobin's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
Your account was suspended for High Server Load. 10025.30 CPU in 24 hours. The cliff on the graph is when the suspension happened. If you're not sure what caused the high load, you could check your account error logs to see if the excess load was caused by a stuck or crashed process: https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/plesk/view-error-logs Another possibility is that bots hammered your site. If you check in your site visitor stats, if you see an unreasonably high number of hits/page views, you could look to block those IP addresses with an .htaccess file to deny their visits. You can check visitor stats inside Plesk > Statistics > Web Statistics > your domain > [View] I've unsuspended your account, please give it a few minutes to get back up and running. Please keep an eye on your account load here: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/ -
I'll mark this as [Solved] since you no longer want the document root changed. Please let us know (by starting a new thread) if we can help with anything else. ?

[Solved] Unsuspension request
KazVee replied to shehabalsaidi's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
That's no problem at all. We just want to make sure we don't have 1 person pretending to be 2 people to get more than their fair share of space and domains. As long as you're 2 different people it's fine for you both to collaborate and help each other out. ? -

[Solved] Unsuspension request
KazVee replied to shehabalsaidi's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
Thank you for clarifying the situation. I've edited your message to remove your friend's full name and their email address, since we don't need this info shared publicly. I've unsuspended your account, please give it a few moments to reactivate. Please make sure that you do not log into each other's accounts anymore, since the system may suspend you both again. Managing someone else's account on their behalf is considered the same as having 2 accounts, as confirmed here: https://wiki.helionet.org/accounts/suspension-policy#managing-accounts-on-behalf-of-others (I'll send a separate message with the same info to your friend when I unsuspend their account very shortly.) -
[Solved] Unsuspension request
KazVee replied to shehabalsaidi's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
Your account was suspended because our system believes you created duplicate accounts, which is against the Terms of Service. Is shehabalsaidi the account you want to keep? -
This support request is being escalated to our root admins. Wolstech will be able to set this up for you and will update this thread when he has a moment.

Hello and welcome! Work is currently in progress to get Morty ready for signups, but because all HelioHost staff are volunteers working on things in our free time, we aren't able to provide ETAs for feature and new server releases. You can read a little bit more about why we can't offer timescales here: https://wiki.helionet.org/hosting/repair-times For VPS dashboards, two of the most popular free ones are Hestia and KeyHelp. They felt similar to each other when I tried them. (And I noticed while googling that they both have demo sites you can play around with if you want to check them out and decide which you prefer if you go with a VPS.) Since you mentioned WordPress, Hestia has a very straightforward install process for WP which helped us build a tutorial you can check out here: https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/vps/wordpress-hestia for an idea of what's involved. I don't remember a 'one-click install' feature for WP inside KeyHelp (and I didn't spot one when I just checked inside their demo site), but it's not something I looked into much. Other folks may chime in with more advice on this. Moving static sites from Morty (or any of the shared hosting accounts) to a VPS should be straightforward as it's just moving files. For WP migration specifically, you may need to research this a little (or wait for more advice from our amazing community). ? In the meantime, while you explore Johnny, you may want to check out our dedicated WordPress page here: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/wordpress WordPress is one of the leading causes of people getting their shared hosting accounts suspended for high load, even on a new WP install with no visitors, because of bots. Since excess account load on Morty will be chargeable (instead of causing account suspension), the page should also offer ideas to try to keep below the excess charge limits on Morty if you decide to open an account there once signups are open.

Thanks for clarifying! Checking back in Discord, the question about triannually came up because you mentioned you'd be interested in paying triannually and the screenshot you shared in the chat showed triannually as well. I've escalated this thread to the attention of Krydos and he'll check into this further for you.
-
Hello! I've found the Discord message where you asked about price matching. Some additional information was requested from you, but I didn't find a reply where you answered the following. Please let us know: 1) The deal you linked was for 12 months, not 4 months. 2) Or do you mean you want to pay for 3 years up front? 3) Triannually means every 4 months. Once we have a better idea of what you're after, it'll be easier to check for a price match and let you know. Thanks! ?

I've reset your account as requested. You should receive an email shortly so you can take the next steps to recreate it. I made a backup before the reset, so if you discover you need any of your old files after all, you can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backup If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/plesk/account-backups

You're very welcome! Please let us know (in a new request thread, since I've marked this one as [Solved]), if we can help with anything else. ?

Your account was indeed suspended for High Server Load: 10108.20 CPU The cause is likely WordPress. It's one of the top reasons for account suspensions, even on a new WP site with no traffic. We have a Wiki page that suggests ways to try to reduce the load caused by WordPress, but recommend using anything else: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/wordpress If you cannot move away from WP, the page also includes some ways you can try to reduce the load caused by your account. If you do not make any changes, another suspension is likely. I have unsuspended your account, please give it a few minutes to reactivate. In order to stop the load from spiking again while you fix the problem, I'd recommend that you create an `.htaccess` file and add a "deny from all" inside the file. This will take the the site offline (visitors will get a `Forbidden` message) so it will not generate load while you fix the problem. Then, once you have resolved the issue, just remember to update the `.htaccess` file to remove the "deny from all" rule. Please keep an eye on your account load here: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/
