It has nothing to do with morals. This ToS says no pornography so you're not allowed to have a pornographic site. If you're actually curious I'm pretty sure the rule originated because the founder of Heliohost set up the first server when he was 16 (which is 2 years earlier than US citizens are legally allowed to view pornographic materials.) So it probably wouldn't have worked out for him to have a server full of porn at that age. We didn't create the rule, we just help enforce it. As far as I know none of us are any particular crazy anti-porn religion or anything nor is Heliohost owned by any group like that so I don't really understand where the morality thing is coming from.

Marked as solved since you switched .war files. http://lani1234.heliohost.org/TestingWarFileOnHelio

Deployed. http://lani1234.heliohost.org/TestingWarFileOnHelio It looks you've got something more than a 404 this time. I'm going to go ahead and mark your other topic as solved since you switched .war's and this one seems to be doing more than the last.

[Solved] Unblock With 'mysqladmin Flush-Hosts'.
Krydos replied to hobbert's topic in Customer Service
Mysql hosts have been flushed. Since you're on Johnny you can use 'localhost' if your script is running on the server, or 'johnny.heliohost.org' if your connecting from a remote location. -

camila.intercorp.com.br isn't hosted on our servers. -
Source: http://wiki.helionet.org/Terms Notice it doesn't say anything about hosting pornographic files on our server? It doesn't matter if you host the actual files elsewhere, or have an iframe to a porn site, or stream the actual videos from some other location, or whatever other silly tricks you want to come up with. If your site has a "pornographic nature" it is in violation of our ToS and will be suspended. Can you modify your site to comply?

http://dnsstuff.hostpro.ua/index.php?fDNSreport=stevie.heliohost.org PASS Reverse DNS entries for MX records OK. The IPs of all of your mail server(s) have correct reverse DNS (PTR) entries. The reverse DNS entries are: 2.143.19.65.in-addr.arpa. stevie.heliohost.org. [TTL=86400] Thanks for pointing that out. Now that I think about it more, I actually did type 2 14400 IN PTR stevie.heliohost.org. originally and WHM or cPanel or something appended the rest of that junk on there. I'm unsure why that happened, but I didn't notice it and the three or four reverse DNS tests I ran all said it was good now. Also, gmx.com/gmx.de used to not accept mail from Stevie, but started accepting mail with the previous PTR record. Since everything I tried was working I didn't really look very closely at the fact that WHM/cPanel was displaying something different from what I had originally typed. Anyways, sorry for being a little thick and taking so long to understand. Let us know if you're still having problems.

Try it now?

The thread was marked solved because you requested deployment of a .war and it was deployed. If you need another .war deployed or a new version or something simply create a new thread.
-
In the future please place your .war file to be deployed in /home/hsk0891/ so I don't have to move it first. Deployed. Unfortunately it looks like your main domain ebook-library.tk isn't hosted with us so I can't post a link to your deployed application.

@byron When the ACP shows the new domain, and WHM/cPanel show the old domain it means there was an error during the domain change. The most likely error is because the domain he is trying to change to was already configured on his account as an addon domain or a parked domain. @fotf It looks like you have deleted fotfguild.tk from your account after you attempted the domain change. Had you deleted it first the domain change would have worked. I went ahead and changed your domain for you. You should immediately see the change in cPanel in the stats box listed under main domain. fotfguild.tk should begin working within 24 hours. @everyone_else_who_might_search_for_find_this_and_read_it Please remember you cannot change your main domain if that domain is already set up. You must delete all traces of it prior to trying to change it to your main domain. If that's too complicated just add it as a parked domain because it's the same thing anyways, and changing your main domain in 99% of cases is really just cosmetic anyways.

[Solved] Sugarcrm With Soft Softaculous Show 404
Krydos replied to marcelom's topic in Escalated Requests
Well, Johnny has almost crashed twice since I increased the php memory limit, and it did crash once resulting in about nine hours of downtime. So I changed the memory limit back down to a reasonable level. I would recommend using a cms that isn't so bloated and doesn't require so much memory. Perhaps you can talk to the sugarcrm developers and see if they have a light version of the software that isn't so resource intensive. Another option would be a dedicated server where you don't have to share memory with other users. -
Generally html files won't be the problem. It's usually scripts that use /tmp to store some data, and then delete it or overwrite it when they're done. If you find any reference to /tmp in your scripts it's best practice on a shared host to use something like /home/username/tmp instead. That way if your scripts go nuts and start filling the partition again you'll only take out your own account not the entire server.

So this is what we have now, and what every single reverse dns test says is working, and even mail servers that used to not accept mail from Stevie because he didn't have reverse dns configured and now accept mail from him: 2 14400 IN PTR stevie.heliohost.org.subnet0.143.19.65.in-addr.arpa. and you're saying you think it should be 2 14400 IN PTR stevie.heliohost.org..subnet0.143.19.65.in-addr.arpa. I don't understand why there would be a double period there? ..

Are there any other domains that you are already hosting at byet?

Deployed. http://lani1234.heliohost.org/CandC It looks like you might have already figured this out, but for the best response time just created a new thread each time you have a new version to deploy. Here is a working snippet from a .jsp file that connects to a mysql database. Perhaps it will help you. <sql:setDataSource var="snapshot" driver="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" url="jdbc:mysql://localhost/username_jsptest" user="username_jsptest" password="censored"/> <sql:query dataSource="${snapshot}" var="result"> SELECT * from people; </sql:query> Also, it's usually a bad idea to post your passwords in a public forum.

[Solved] Sugarcrm With Soft Softaculous Show 404
Krydos replied to marcelom's topic in Escalated Requests
PHP in general on Johnny is sensitive to load. A ridiculously bloated cms that requires a whopping 800 MB of memory is going to be even more sensitive to load. This might be the best we can expect from sugarcms on Johnny. It's actually kind of ironic too because the higher we set the memory limit the more unstable Johnny becomes so "you're 500ed if you do 500ed if you don't" so to speak. Maybe I'm just trying it when load is low or something, but I've only gotten one 500 error from my link out of maybe 20 clicks. -
This user singlehandedly filled 74% of the /tmp partition and caused the server to stop functioning properly. The account was suspended to prevent this from happening again and to alert the user to the problem he is causing. If it happens again the account will be suspended again. If the user fixes whatever broken script was overusing /tmp everything will be good. Thanks.

[Solved] Sugarcrm With Soft Softaculous Show 404

How are we supposed to know that it's still broken unless the user tells us? Generally the way things work is people only visit the forums and only post when something isn't working, and if it starts working most people never come back to tell us that it's fixed. Maybe it's an overly optimistic outlook, but hearing nothing from the users means I assume it's fixed. Solved threads stay open for at least 48 hours giving the user a chance to say it still isn't working and keep the topic alive. We used to leave threads open and unsolved until the user posted that it was fixed and it resulted in a very messy forum with a large percentage of threads with an unknown status. I merged the identical threads, and it is currently not marked as solved. Anyone have any other ideas why this wouldn't be working? 768M memory is a ridiculously large amount already. I installed sugarcrm with softaculous on my Johnny test account and it works fine for me: http://krydos1.heliohost.org/sugar Did you ever try reinstalling it since I increased the memory limit to 768M? -
Does it work now?

Which mailservers aren't accepting mail from stevie then?

We raise the disk space limit for everyone from time to time, and have been considering another raise. The only way we've given away extra space is to the grand prize winner of our annual website competition. Most webhosts are borderline scams with the free hosting being basically unusable for anything, and then once they get you hooked they annoy you constantly into upgrading instead of actually trying to solve any of your problems. Heliohost is different. Everyone's account is the same, and everyone pays nothing for it. The only thing we charge extra for is dedicated IP addresses, but that's only because our IP address provider charges us for them and we simply pass the cost on to the user. If we could get free IP addresses we would give them to any user who asked for one for free. No we are not based in Iceland. The servers and the non-profit company that runs them are both located in the US. According to our bill of rights free speech should be included, but ... you know, sometimes it seems not so much.
