[Solved] VPS Subscription Renewal (and Morty Account top up)

In that case it's better to have codecreature.net as an addon (not an alias) and codecreature.helioho.st as your main domain. Then set it up so anyone who goes to codecreature.helioho.st gets a 301 redirect to the new codecreature.net domain. Browsers and search engines will automatically update their links, and after a few weeks or a month or whatever you can remove the codecreature.helioho.st domain entirely and leave only the codecreature.net domain.

I've reset your account as requested. You should receive an email shortly so you can take the next steps to recreate it. I made a backup before the reset, so if you discover you need any of your old files, you can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backup If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/Account_Backups

[Solved] Convert site to parked domain
codecreature replied to codecreature's topic in Escalated Requests
Okay, thanks for the explanation! I would like to keep it active for a little while just to prevent links suddenly going dark, but I'll remove it in a few weeks to avoid significant long term impact. I'm not super familiar with how hosting works yet so it's helpful to have the info!- 7 replies

You've probably heard of Apache and Nginx, but have you heard about Caddy? In this video we show you how to install the Caddy webserver software on your VPS. Caddy is known for issuing SSL certificates automatically, and being easier to configure than his more famous relatives. It's worth checking out! https://youtu.be/Vq-cKnQGevU It's been a bit since we released a new video, but hopefully you enjoy this one. Some users find it much easier to follow a video guide rather than reading the text guides we have at https://wiki.helionet.org/ Please let us know if there is a specific topic that you think would be good for our next video. Also if you don't mind subscribing to our YouTube channel that would be a great way to get some free advertising. We are a small non-profit funded by donations so we don't have a huge budget to afford paid advertising, so the more word of mouth recommendations, the more social media likes, and the more subscribes we can get goes a long ways towards finding more users and continuing to grow. Even if you can't donate, this is a great way to help us for free. Thanks!

Here's your current storage usage: Backups 0 MB Emails 832.85 MB Files 19.64 MB Trash 0 MB Logs 151.84 MB PSQL 0 MB MySQL 0 MB Total 1004.33 MB We don't see people with 832 MB of emails very often. Since your account was created in 2019 on cPanel and transferred to Plesk I recommend doing a reset. We can provide a full backup prior to resetting the account back to the default state, you can download and extract the backup, and you can sort through all these emails on your home PC to see if you need any of them. Another option that KazVee already mentioned is you can increase your storage space at https://heliohost.org/dashboard/storage/ if you need more than 1000 MB.

Also, I'd like to point out that if you're not even going to be using the codecreature.helioho.st domain you may as well remove it entirely. Having pointless domains like this on the server increases the load and decreases the uptime just by even existing on your account. We always encourage users to remove domains unless they have a good reason for needing them active.

I have reset your account, and you will receive an email in a bit with a link. Click the link in the email to take the next steps in the reset process.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but to expand on my point from the last post: You can have up to 10 domains on a single account. There is no way for anyone to know whether the domain is on a separate account or on the same account as another domain. Since no one else needs to login to your personal account or your business account, which is the only way anyone would know that your business domain is on the same account as any other domain, I don't see the point of having multiple accounts.

Hestia has to be installed on a fresh operating system with no other installed software or files. Do you need a backup of anything on your VPS before we wipe it clean, reinstall the OS, and install Hestia for you?

I suspect you didn't get a response because nobody here knows how to do this. I've never really used Roundcube for much beyond testing mailboxes. I use Gmail as a front end to check my HH emails instead. On Gmail, doing this is as simple as creating a filter with the criteria "filename:gz" and specifying what to do with the messages. Based on the link you gave, you could probably change the content-type field to application/gzip (or possibly application/x-gzip) to make it look for .gz instead of regular zip. I've never used sieve though (and honestly I'm not sure the Plesk Roundcube even supports it).

have you tried to SSH in and run (sudo systemctl reboot)

I want to reboot my vps how should I do that it says interactive interaction required.
-
already working, thank you

Could you please confirm which account username you want unsuspended? I don't find an account named "OrionElectronica" and when I search using the email addresses associated with your forum account, no hosting accounts are found. We recommend using the same email address on your forum account as on your hosting account, to make it easier for the unpaid volunteer staff to help users.

[Solved] Convert site to parked domain
wolstech replied to codecreature's topic in Escalated Requests
You have to reset your account and start over to swap addon and main domains, because trying to swap them in the system will break the account. Resetting your account deletes all of your data and requires you to set everything up again. There's not really any good reason to do this as your domains behave the same either way to the general public. It's just their appearance in the control panel that's different.- 7 replies

Users can verify their own accounts with Google using the HTML file upload method, without needing a root admin to intervene. Please have a look at the Wiki guide here and let us know if it did not work for you: https://wiki.helionet.org/Google_Site_Verification
