Hi,
I was invited to go to Plesk with Tommy. I got to the stage where you
click to log in,
but the round icon kept revolving for hours, and I finally quit, and
did not get to log in.
Thanks for your attention,
Gary

After you submitted your account and arrived at the login screen did you login immediately or did you sit on that screen for a few minutes before logging in? I'm trying to figure out why it would do that. When you first submit your account for creation it is in state QUEUED, and when it finishes creating a minute or two later it enters DOMAIN state. The login code is a little different for the different states so it would be helpful to narrow down what went wrong. Also what browser were you using and was it a desktop/laptop, or was it a mobile device of some sort?

Hi,

I really appreciate your quick reply!!!!
As to your question, I didnt wait, I clicked log in immediately. I was
using Firefox on a laptop.
Sorry, but now after you have fixed my login, I don't know how I get
to my Plesk screen.
By the way, to make a contribution payment where would I have to go?
Thanks,
Gary

Thank you for the feedback on the account creation using Firefox. I haven't tested the site much with Firefox so I'll see if I can make it happen again.

Hi,
I logged in to the Plesk site, but I cant make any sense of it. Under File
(manager) I get this (please see attached). I don't see the usual page with
all the files at the Host as I used to.

I would like to donate more than the recent $2, and will do as soon as you
contact me and give help with using PLesk.

Thanks very much for the assistance !

Gary

Apologies for not answering your other plesk related question, but after
you sign in, you should be redirected to the dashboard where you can find a
big plesk button on the left hand side. If you don't see one, enter your
username and password here: https://tommy2.heliohost.org/login_up.php

Our email system rejects binary attachments such as images. If you need to send an image please upload it to an image hosting service such as imgur.com and then post a link to the image instead of attaching it directly. You can also just describe what support you need in words instead of sending an image if that's easier.

Hi,

I can describe the issue as:
I am on HelioHost Websites & Domains. Then I reach Files, i.e., File
Manager for gstong.helioho.st.
Under Home Directpry there are 3 entries: .composer, httpdocs and
logs. None of these lead to any files I used to have at the original
Helio host.
I suspect these files were never transmited to Plesk. (if these pages
I described are Plesk).
I hope this is enough information for you to see the problem.
Simply put, I dont seem to be accessing the Plesk file manager Helio
has move to.
Thanks ahead for your help!
Gary
PS Once everything succeeds I will be happy to make a decent donation,

Hi,

An unrelated query:
Would anyone at Helio be interested in being hired for a fee to advise
me on Wordpress use?
I have a WP site which mostly doesnt work and has in some way
corrupted certain files that I have linked to
WP. I find WP to be an incompetent concoction and unless things can be
straightened I want to get rid of it.
Thanks!

Your account looks like a new account made on September 30, not a migration, so you're not supposed to see any old data (this can happen for a bunch of reasons, the most common your old account was archived when our licenses were revoked, you were on Johnny, or you requested a new account instead of a migration).

You can use your old account's username to obtain the data from it at https://heliohost.org/backup/ You'll need to download the files in your backup, unpack them, and manually restore the content using the files and database dumps inside.

No comment on Wordpress as I generally recommend people not use Wordpress. It hasn't been much of a problem yet on Plesk, but back in the cPanel days it was one of the leading causes of suspension (it loves to cause high load, and is also easily hacked if you install dubious extensions or its not kept up to date...)

Regarding the WordPress matter, Plesk has a feature called WP (WordPress) Toolkit, where you can automatically install and update WordPress and its plugins and themes.

Just login to Plesk and click on the penultimate item on the left panel called "WordPress". There you'll have an option to "Install" WordPress or "Scan" for it (if you have it already installed and just wants Plesk to recognize it so you can take benefit of Plesk's WordPress management).

This way you just fill some fields and Plesk will take care of installing WordPress (plus the "Plugin/theme set" if you choose one) as well as keeping it up to date according to your choices on "Automatic Update Settings" section.

It looks like you have a cPanel account with the username garytong that was created in 2020 on Tommy. Then you created a new Plesk account on Tommy with the username gtong in September. The reason you got two invites is because you donated with a comcast.net email address and with a core.com email address. Since the email addresses are different you received two invites, a transfer invite and a new account invite. You used the new account invite. Would you like me to delete the new account and transfer the existing cPanel account with all of your files?

Hi,

Yes, please do transfer existing cPanel account with all files to the
Plesk account.
Also, make sure to use core.com email address (comcast.net email
address is no longer valid).
Thanks a lot!
Gary
