  1. I need some helio host subdomain, but it reach limit every time i register.

    what shall i do?

@Chor : Please can you sign up at 12:00 PST (midnight) or later if you want to make an account.

All the spots are usually allocated by 5:00AM PST, so you're going to have to be quick!! :)

  2. In your domain's settings, set the following nameservers:

    ns1.heliohost.org

    ns2.heliohost.org

Then, in your cPanel, go to 'Parked Domains' and add your domain.

Then Voila! You're domain will be working within 24 hours! :D

After following the above method, you will be using BOTH domains (gratifier.co.uk AND gratifier.heliohost.org). If you would like us to disable gratifier.heliohost.org, please let us know. ;)

  3. The only IFRAME used when using cPanel is the script which keeps your account alive (stop being suspended due to inactivity).

    1. What URL are you using to login?

    2. What anti-virus are you using?

    3. What is your domain and username?

This support request is being escalated to our root admin.

@djbob : I am not getting any messages in IE8 and I am using AVG. However, cPanel isn't displaying correctly in IE8.

  4. Chrome is definitely the most speedy, good-looking browser, so I use it.

It has a simple layout without any extra toolbars, buttons, settings, etc. The tabs are even implemented right at the top instead of the Google Chrome title, and all the tools are on one simple toolbar below that. The search box is the same as the web address box, meaning that it is very easy to use.

It saves my history and the tabs I close automatically without slowing down.

The only downside of Google Chrome is that it is unable to read RSS feeds or XML documents.

Here's my list of favorite browsers:

    1st Google Chrome

    2nd Mozilla Firefox

    3rd Apple Safari

    4th Opera

    5th Internet Explorer

Doom to all those who "love" IE

 Yeah. It's still a good browser, but the people who use IE don't know the capabilities and improvements in other browsers. IE is slow, incompatible, and can sometimes be a nightmare.

  5. Ooops - okay:

FaceBook is one website hosted on 50,000 servers.

HelioHost has 22,000 websites hosted on one server.

But my point is that just 1 website is hosted on 50,000 servers, while HelioHost has 22,000 websites on 1 server, meaning that it would be very impossible to host something like FaceBook.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

For ex - what if hard disk of cody crashes. Then all the 22000 sites will be destroyed in a moment, as well as the reputation of helio.

Actually, just incase this happens, we recommend everyone keeps a backup of their site.

Don't put too much pressure on djbob!!

Once helio grows, dj will have to add more servers too and that in different parts of the world and synched with one another in order to maintain the speed and reliability.

Not sure if djbob will be able to get servers in different parts of the world, as he only has access to one data center.

Servers are very expensive; they range from around $200 per month (per server).

If djbob had 2 servers with that price, djbob would have to pay $5,000 every year!

@manish_kvs : I have moved your post to a new topic in the Contact HelioNet forum.

  6. Ok - your avatar is now set. :)

We are now trying to fix the problem - we are discussing the matter in the Moderator's Forum.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

EDIT: Our root admin has identified the cause of the issue: HelioNet has recently been moved to our new server, Charlie (Cody). This issue should be fixed soon.

  7. I've just tried it - getting the same error.

After some research I've found the problem:

I figured out that there is a folder inside of the uploads folder that needed to be chmod 0777

I can't chmod stuff (well, at least I don't think I can - another admin might be able to confirm this?), so we will have to wait for another administrator to fix this. :)

EDIT: For now, please can you reply to this topic and attach the avatar you desire, and I will add it to your account from my end. :)

  8. This support request is being escalated to our root admin.

Would you like to use a self-signed certificate, or have you bought a certificate from an SSL certificate registrer such as VeriSign. Please remember that self-signed certificates will show a warning to users and are usually used for tests.

  9. We offer a free domain if you have been a member of HelioNet for 3 months and you have posted 400 replies (which you haven't).

You could use .CO.CC or buy a domain such as .com .org .gov from a domain registerer. Use the following nameservers:

    ns1.heliohost.org

    ns2.heliohost.org

If you don't want to use a top-level domain, you can use a free .heliohost.org domain. ;)

  10. Sorry about any of the recent downtime. Downtime can be caused when djbob is improving HelioHost, alot of people are using HelioHost, or somebody is abusing HelioHost. We try to elimintate users that abuse the servers as much as possible. :)

When Charlie is configured and up and running, downtime should be rare. ;)

If you are still experiencing problems or require further assistance, then please post your domain and username. :)

  11. 1) The HelioHost website is very popular, meaning that it can be down quite alot. Especially HelioNet, as it runs many complex commands for every user. We are currently configuring our new server, Charlie, and this will balance out the server load meaning that downtime will be rare.

    2) There is a 'Current Server Load' image in Wizard, Byron and jje's (me) signature. The server is running smoothly without error if it is below 20.00 .

Any news will be posted here: http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showforum=1

Site uptime info can be found here: http://www.siteuptime.com/statistics.php?I...p;UserId=122488

Down for everyone or just you? downforeveryoneorjustme.com/heliohost.org

We are working on a new Q&A site, which could possibly be hosted externally meaning it will be available whem HelioHost is down (unconfirmed).

    3) HelioHost is quite reliable (we have a 90% uptime), and it will be much more reliable when Charlie is configured.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

  12. Great news! I'm sure this will provide users with a much more stable hosting experience! :)

Just one question: Will the progatation process affect any of the current websites hosted on HelioHost?

    Thanks, djbob! :D

  13. You can only have your site warning-free if you use a proper certificate (eg. Verisign). You will get warnings if you are using a self-signed certificate (with you are using now).

Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way to stop the warnings popping up.

Self-Signed certificates are usually used to test websites. Most public websites use proper ones. ;)

  14. You can login from the HelioHost homepage or from http://stevie.heliohost.org:2082 .

After creating the index.html file OR index.php OR index.htm in the public_html directory , you can use cPanel's built in WYSIWYG editor or Code editor.

If you use a website making application on your computer to make your websites, then you can use FTP to upload your website to the public_html directory.

You could even use a CMS, Forum, etc to manage your site. Click on the Softaculous button in your cPanel.
