  1. Thanks!

Johnny is currently being configured and we're not accepting any accounts for Johnny yet - that's why his server load is always at 0.

The plan is to open signups to Johnny when the configuration process is complete. While most new accounts would be handled by Johnny, this would put pressure off Stevie meaning that Stevie wouldn't be so overloaded.

At the moment, we don't have any intention of moving any current accounts to Johnny, but this could change in the future.

We are constantly trying to suspend and delete users who are using around 20% of the server resources.

    Thanks! :)

  2. Don't worry - I like helping people out on HelioNet. ;)

At the moment Stevie's server load is ridiculously high, which has caused no access to cPanel and lots of Internal Server Errors. This can be caused when djbob is working on the server, somebody's abusing the server, or alot of people are generally using HelioHost.

If your site is hosted on HelioHost, the hostname is localhost.

If your site isn't hosted on HelioHost, the hostname is stevie.heliohost.org.

MySQL Databases can be configured within cPanel. An example configuration would be:

    Hostname: localhost

    Username: jje_user

    Password: pass123

    Database: jje_db

Hope you are having a pleasant experience with HelioHost! :)

  3. Is it working ok now?

Stevie's server load is now ridiculously high - we're trying to prevent this from happening by getting Charlie up and running A.S.A.P. ;)

This high server load can be caused by work being done on the server, generally alot of users using HelioHost, or somebody abusing our services.

High server load leads to lots of 500 Internal Server Errors.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

  4. Stevie's server load is ridiculously high at the moment, meaning that these errors are likely to occur.

It is very rare for Stevie's server load to be so high, and we are working to lower it. ;)

I'm merging two topics related to this problem into one - this topic is now in Customer Service.

  5. Hope you have a pleasant time with HelioHost! :)

Even though on a computer 250MB is quite small, on a webserver it is plenty of space.

My website has got about 6 different installations and lots of images and files yet I haven't filled up my space.

WordPress and MyBB are only a few MB big, and most images are just a few KB, so space shouldn't be a problem. ;)

  6. Go to your domain's control panel, and point your domain to the following nameservers:

    ns1.heliohost.org

    ns2.heliohost.org

Then, in your cPanel, go to 'Parked Domains' and add your domain.

Then Voila! Your domain will become active within 24 hours! :D

  7. Thank you for using HelioHost! Hope you are going to have a great experience!

I can see your account in the database - everything is working perfectly. Your account should be active within 48 hours. ;)

  8. I'm not sure if I 100% understand your question, but...

Couldn't you make the PHP file in Dreamweaver and then upload it to HelioHost via FTP?

If you want to see the effects of PHP in the design window, then I don't think this is possible. The Design window is meant for the Design, not the effects of PHP.

You could also use WAMP or XAMPP to test drive your files, as they don't require upload. ;)

  9. Think it means this forum may someday be host at a separate place so if Helio is down the server will still be up.

Actually, since I posted, djbob has managed to host our forums and the HelioHost homepage elsewhere. This means that if HelioHost is down, the support forums are still up. :)

A Q&A site is a site where users can ASK questions and SUGGEST and other users can ANSWER, AGREE or DISAGREE. ;) For an example take a look at StackExchange.com

We're not even sure if we are going to take advantage of a Q&A site - we're still waiting feedback from djbob.
