Heliohost has seemed kind of slow lately.

Python is, in my opinion, the best to start with. You can use it on the web, or on your desktop, and it's very powerful and flexible in both. It comes pre-installed with linux. It helps to teach OOP methods, as well as force good habits. I learned python before I learned c++, and I must say it made it a lot easier. Joe

Yea, true that. I'm hoping to make anything in the six figures. I guess I could be a chief executive of Vavle or something (I could make them use openGL ). That would be totally awesome. I still have a long ways to go until I decide. I might change my mind back to programming before I go off to uni. Joe

Does any one use a unix operating system? I have linux on one of my computers. I only have windows on the other because my favorite games are only compatible with it. I can't wait until opengl gets a better hold than directx. Just wondering what other people are using, Joe

LOL I bet, as much as gas costs now-a-days. Anyways, while looking around, it seems that business is the way to go. It has one of the highest pay. I think programmers should get payed a lot more. I want to make at least six figures when I grow up, but I would really like to go into CS It's that I'm not in it for the love of the job. It's best to get it from a well respected brand of hardware. The store really doesn't matter, as long as it's not used. I would personally go with the small business, as they make their money from customer service, where as big chains make it from trying to maximize their prophets, anyway possible. Joe

It can't. It can only represent that of the English language, and a few others, but lacks a great deal of foreign letters, Asain in particular. Go search for an article on unicode, as thats what tries to deal with this very matter. I just upgraded my computer with a new graphics card, which takes some of the load of my ram(as my old graphics card was a blood cloat). I have 1024mb of ram. Joe

The very top-level of many jobs have inflated salaries. From the research I've done, the average software engineer makes below 100k. Found that from multiple resources on line, as well as few software engineers I've chatted with on the subject. Thats would be my favorite job as well. But if you haven't already inferred so, I'm in it for the money. I will probably continue to program as a hobby though. That is horribly wrong! Unix base OS's will probably become most common. Just think about it free OS | Really expensive OS that does the same thing, but not as well? Their are millions of reasons of why *nix will succeed, but you of all people should understand that, you being a web developer and all. The internet is Unix. Joe

Well, lately I have been wanting to be a software engineer, until I found out their wages...... Now I'm looking into business.

Anyone know of a free script in which I can allow people to simply post text on, to be seen by others? For example, if person a gets a message on their computer, they can post it for person b to see?
