Hi,

I was just wondering why I can't access the site or the VPs itself.

Yes, you can recreate and upgrade using Ubuntu 22. Am I getting the same
IP? Can you also add a panel manager like hesta? Also I asked for a
subdomain before , you gave me x.heliohost.org can I have new one named
zane? Pls don't forget to add PTR

I wish you guys luck in getting the data on the crashed server. I'm pretty
sure I have backup of the files in the server so you can take your time.

Regards,
Zane

Hello,

Thank you. But I can't remember my sign up password. For vps login details
I was usually given the generated pwd.

When I tried to login and reset my pwd on the link provided, it shows my
account as inactive. I usually fail to login for the free account and my
VPs login info are separate from the free account although it is using the
same email address. Please help.

As mentioned in my previous message I do need a free domain (Zane). I also
requested that the PTR for the domain be arranged as well if hestia is
installed like before. I can install hestia if it's too much trouble, but
please let me know.

Regards,
Zane

Have you tried resetting your password at:

https://heliohost.org/reset/

Keep in mind that since your Tommy account and your VPS use the same email address you have to use the username to specify the correct account. The username for your VPS is:

smi93ctb

if you've forgotten. The Tommy account username is smi93ctb1 so don't try resetting the password on that account otherwise it will say you need to renew it first.

I started the VPS rebuild yesterday, but I had to run to take care of a lot of non-HelioHost stuff so I never got a chance to set up Hestia for you, etc. I will email you again once that's all done.

Alright, Hestia has been installed on your VPS. The login URL is

https://vps4.heliohost.us:8443/

To get the default password login to SSH and run the command

cat /root/hestia.txt

I also created the domain zane.helioho.st pointed at your VPS, and changed your reverse DNS for this new domain.

Krydos will need to look at this for you. He'll post when he gets a moment, but based on a quick check on my side, this looks like it might be something to do with your internet connection or PC.

VPS4 is responding to ping for me and I can also reach the login prompt for both SSH on port 22 and the Hestia web UI on port 8083.

Pinging vps4.heliohost.us [64.62.214.2] with 32 bytes of data:

I received a response from krydos about your VPS. Your VPS is on the Sparkie hardware (the same box that contains the failed Johnny server), but on a different storage array. The outages are because we keep shutting the hardware down in an effort to get the failed disk array for Johnny to rebuild (albeit without success so far).

You may see periodic outages like this while the recovery work is ongoing.

I still need to know how to access the ssh. I reset my pwd and I still
can't login. If I can't ssh then I can't get the pwd for the hestia.

Is it possible that you generate pwd for my ssh login? Once I can ssh then
I can do what needs to be done.

Thanks

Once the server is back online you should be able to login. Right now we're looking at a few hours of downtime at least. The good news is it is looking really promising that we will be able to recover the data on the broken raid array. I'll email you when your VPS is back online.

Sorry for all the problems and confusion over the last few days. Your VPS is now online. Please go to https://heliohost.org/reset/ and use the username smi93ctb to try resetting your password. If you can't get it to work and we can send you a random temporary password in plaintext.

Hestia has been installed and the credentials are located in /root/hestia.txt once you get SSH figured out.

Let us know if you need help with anything.
