robev Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 I don't know if this is automatic but I got my email asking if I want to move to plesk. After the cpanel issue I moved my account from Tommy to a paid VPS with Hestia, and I'd like to move back to Tommy/Plesk and stop paying for the VPS. I clicked the transfer link in the email. https://robbiewolfe.heliohost.org
wolstech Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 You're the first VPS to ask on the forum about moving back. Lets see what Krydos says about how to do this...
Krydos Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Clicking the link in the email will move your old Tommy cPanel account onto the new Plesk Tommy. Any changes that you've made to your website since you got the VPS will have to be reapplied to your new Plesk account. When you have everything you need from your VPS backed up let us know and we can shut it down.
robev Posted May 6, 2022 Author Posted May 6, 2022 How do I back it up? Manually download from ftp? I think the main difference is my blog's WordPress database needs to be transferred over and the files I uploaded over the past few months. Not much else.
yashrs Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 @robev, you can backup by using ssh, zip the folder and transfer the files. You can then generate a mysql (.sql file) dump using phpmyadmin, and import it to Plesk's mysql. Alternatively, you can use any wordpress extension to transfer the website as well
Krydos Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 @robevHow's the transfer from the VPS to Plesk going? Need any help?
robev Posted July 20, 2022 Author Posted July 20, 2022 Thank you. Sorry, I've been really busy lately. I'll let you know when I've backed up the VPS files.
