gnarlyga
Hello.I am on the Johnny server for my site, and i am trying to install MediaWiki. However, it says this. The following errors were found :Required PHP extension not found: iconvI looked it up, and iconv is supposed to be enabled by default, so I don't know why its disabled or not there. Requesting it to have it be put back. EDIT: Fixed it, i changed to a newer version of PHP (i was on 7.2) and now it installed correctly. Lock this thread or something, or delete it. wolstech
These requests can take a day or two. Also, bumping your post moves you to the back of the line since we work the forums from the bottom up. That way people waiting the longest are served first.
gnarlyga
But why is a thing thats supposed to be enabled by default, turned off?A day to turn that back on? lmao. Edited May 7, 2020 by gnarlyga
wolstech
It was never turned on to begin with. When we build a server, we don't install any of the php modules except the essential stuff like mysql. It's done to save memory and resources. The fact you're having to ask for it means in the 7+ months since the last rebuild, nobody has ever used iconv on 7.2...
