Good Afternoon,

I wanted to drop a note that I'm really glad my wife and I
discovered HelioHost and are looking forward to joining it.

We created our own accounts yesterday and verified our emails.

Thank you for not only hosting PostgreSQL it but keeping a free tier for
hobbyists like us!

I am a software engineer who intends to to hookup my React based frontend
running clientside delivered via a static CDN connected to my backend
running Flask/Python/PostgreSQL/Redis on a HelioHost VM.

[Redacted] just finished her M.S. in statistics and we hoping to host a
similar backend that uses Numpy/Flask/Python. PostgreSQL would be nice here
too but so far the projects we have done together have done fine with SQLite

Happy Thanksgiving to you, I sure am glad we found HelioHost!

Need 2 points of assistance from you:

1. Could you be so kind so as to remove my wife's (and mine if I mentioned

it) name from the post for privacy reasons?

I was unaware this ticket would be public and would be using direct forum

posts in the future so it won't show (user)names.

Also, I need help from you understanding your signup process.

2. Do we currently have accounts in your system?

It's possible I might have incorrectly assumed that my/our signup requests

were put in a queue and eventually accepted but it looks like that's not

the case?

Instead it seems like one has to visit the site when the signup opens up at

a certain time everyday until the allocations for the day run out?

Cheers,

The name removal will be done by a mod.

And yeah, actually your correct in what you say till Johnny was rebuild. As of now, the sign-ups for Johnny are open throughout the day, and for Tommy, our superfast server, you'll have to stay tuned at midnight UTC which is 5:30 AM IST.

Else you could donate a dollar and get a direct invitation to Tommy skipping the wait queue (or $2 as I assume both of you need an account).

Otherwise, if you'd not need such Tommy features, you might as well signup for Johnny. It's good enough after the rebuild and free. :)

The way signups work is that you have to register quickly just after midnight UTC. Accounts are first come first serve, and only a limited number can be created each day. When they fill up, it won't let you complete the registration process (all the servers will say "full"). The registrations reset every day at midnight, so if it's already full today, try again tomorrow. Most people will do the email step a few minutes before midnight UTC and leave the site open at the server select screen. At midnight, they refresh the page and pick the server. Tommy fills almost instantly (usually in seconds) every day and is nearly impossible to get for free. The others stay open much longer (Ricky lasts several hours usually, Johnny is open 24/7 at the moment).

If you completed the full registration (server, username, domain, etc.) and still can't sign in, let us know your username and we can check what happened to the account. They sometimes get stuck and fail create for technical reasons.

If the server you want is not available, and you prefer not to wait for it to open and hope you can get an account, donating $1 gets you an invite that lets you skip the wait and create an account on our best server, Tommy (https://heliohost.org/tommy/)

Finally, the names have been redacted from your original email.
