  1. My home server does this too. But it doesn't have a public IP yet, so that could be part of the issue. Stgeorge is correct though. (null)
  2. Heliohost does not use caching, and heliohost.org/Helionet.org is on a separate server. (null)
  3. No not the databases, just the user. (null)
  4. Try deleting and re-creating the database user through cPanel. I would post a query to enter, but I don't believe it would work here (since dropping databases doesn't work either). If it is your cPanel password, please use the password reset form at Stevie.heliohost.org:2082 or Johnny.heliohost.org:2082 P.S. I apologize if this post was too confusing (null)
  5. When the domain has been successfully parked you must wait 24 hours for changes to take affect. Were you able to successfully park/add the domain? (null)
  6. I know from using Google Apps they give you the address when setting up your email. Once you create the MX entry Google checks to make sure it is valid. I think the process takes about 24hours. (null)
  7. Have you waited 48+ hours? If not please wait and try again. Otherwise please post in the Customer Service forum (you will gain the most attention there). (null)
  8. I don't believe so since cPanel doesn't have an API. I tried the same with FTP accounts (null)
  9. All HelioHost accounts receive a non-upgradable 500mb (null)
  10. Please use http://heliohost.org/home/support/scripts/delete (null)
  11. Wait 24 hours and try again? I don't completely remember the solution to this. (null)
  12. No, cPanel is a control panel for managing files, databases, cron, etc. (null)
  13. That's ok. It was a silly question anyway since I can easily look in my FTP messages and find it there.
  14. After doing that nothing funcioned at all, so I purged vsftpd and installed pure-ftpd (what I believe HelioHost is using). The problem seems to have resolved itself now (the mail problem as well). Thank you so much everyone for your help!
  15. No, default for files is 600 and folders is 700. I forgot to mention I am using vsftpd. What does HelioHost use? I checked /etc/vsftpd.conf for options, but found nothing. Also, FileZilla displays file/folder permissions as -rw------ instead of numbers.
  16. Thanks, it works! I can't believe I didn't think of that. But how do you set it so that newly created directories default to 755 and newly created/uploaded files default to 644?
  17. Hello, I am running a test Ubuntu linux server with Apache2, PHP5 and MySQL. When I run a PHP mail() function to my personal email, it returns this error: I read that my ISP might be filtering port 25, and I will work to disable this and see if that changes anything. Other helpful things to know: -I'm not using PHP pear (I'm not sure it it is installed, however. It shouldn't be) -My httpd.conf is blank (would that affect anything?) -I am completely comfortable with using the terminal (That is how I got this thing running anyway ) Thank you to anyone who can help!
  18. Dear xaav and Krydos, I owe both of you a sincere apology for my behavior in this topic and my comments in my 3rd post. I am now running a test Ubuntu machine (completely from terminal too!) and I have been much happier than with Microsoft and its IIS server. If you two hadn't tried to convince me to switch to Linux, I would have been unhappily stuck with Microsoft. I hope you will be able to accept my apology and forgive my mistake I have made. P.S. I plan on launching many more Linux machines in the near future!
  19. HelioHost is not responsible for their messages being marked as spam, gmail and hotmail are responsible for this. However, you can mark these messages as not spam.
  20. I read somewhere that .tk domains get pulled once they reach a certain amount of traffic for advertising purposes. I'm not sure about the integrity of that article, I just thought I would put that out there...
  21. It almost sounds like HelioHost is a hotel now (null)
  22. MySQL was recently updated, but I don't know to what version. The upgrade was done in an attempt to solve this problem. MySQL interaction through PHP functions fine, I'm not sure about other languages. (null)
