    Downtimes...

I've confirmed that named (BIND... that software that manages the nameservers and resolves URLs) and crond (the software that executes certain processes at specified times) are not at fault. I am now testing httpd (Apache... the software that processes and passes webpages on to clients) to see if it is at fault.
  2. http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?sh...amp;#entry41507 FTP should be down right now. Are you getting any errors in an error_log file, or cPanel's error log?

    Downtimes...

I have taken the following services down to try to pinpoint the problem: SMTP POP3 FTP PostgreSQL SpamAssassin

    Downtimes...

I'm working on it. These last few downtimes are particularly bothersome, because they keep causing sshd to go down, which means I have to email the datacenter folks to reboot the server since I can't access it at all.
  5. I'll need you to PM me your username, current domain, the domain you want, and the email you signed up with.
  6. Only sites that qualify for the Ads Unlimited plan can get more space. http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showforum=67
  7. Is it working now, or are you still having problems?
  8. Okay Ric, you've also been assigned a dedicated IP
  9. Login at http://stevie.heliohost.org, and make sure you enter your username in all lowercase letters. You'll have to wait about 24 hours after you signup for the account to be activated, so keep checking if it doesn't work the first time
  10. Okay, cPanel reports the problem as fixed. How's it looking for you guys?
  11. Since I can't figure out the problem on my own, I've submitted a support request to cPanel. It's probably a problem on their end. I'll let you know when they've figured it out.
  12. Jyanks: you are definitely using the wrong port. That error message just indicates that your MySQL "connection" message wasn't rejected, but that's only because you're talking to cpaneld and not mysqld on Stevie... cpaneld doesn't understand your message, so it probably ignores it or something. I'll look into this on my own a little.
  13. Okay, I've contacted cPanel.
  14. Okay Victor, you've been assigned a dedicated IP
  15. Try it once more. If the problem persists, I'll contact cPanel support.
  16. The folks at cPanel tell me they've fixed the problem. Is everything okay on your guys' end?
  17. When did you register your HelioHost account?
  18. You should be able to use that domain name, although you shouldn't have had to pay $20 (that's a little steep for a domain name). Point its nameservers to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org. To upload using Dreamweaver, just configure FTP using your HelioHost username and password. Make sure you're uploading to the public_html folder.
  19. Go to cPanel, and then select Remote Database Access Hosts. Enter your IP into there. (Your IP isn't 127.0.0.1; that's localhost. It's not 192.168.*.* either. Google for "what is my IP" and pick the first result, and it will tell you.)
  20. The site in question has been suspended. Thanks for letting us know.
  21. He knew it was a joke, huh? I'm not so sure this guy got the joke.
  22. Do you have the domain henriwatson.com purchased and pointed to HelioHost?
  23. It sometimes takes more than 24 hours. Try waiting another 24 hours and if the problem persists then I would recommend trying to execute a "nslookup" command from both machines and seeing what they pop up.
