There are many good search engines I use. Google has improved over the past year or two. I use one called Dogpile.com which combines results from other popular search engines. When I am programming, I use Krugle.com to help with code snippets. AskJeeves was good, but he retired and the novelty of having a butler is gone.

Personally I use Google because I've heard exactly how it works. It checks to see how many external clicks a site has for other search engines and gauges it based off an automated system. Not only that but I mean look at them they have free e-mail registering too that isn't bad and has a built in chat. I would certainly say not bad at all for that $0 a month for "premier" membership quality mail system.

When searching, first thing I do is to post the key words related to what I'm searching in YAHOO! ANSWERS.

But, if I can't find the results that I want, I prefer to use google.com
