robev Posted Thursday at 01:17 PM Posted Thursday at 01:17 PM Hi. I've had both a free account on Tommy and a paid VPS for several years. I don't really use the VPS features so I'd like to close my VPS and migrate back to using my account on Tommy. https://robbiewolfe.heliohost.org username robev I've backed up what I want from my VPS. When I tried logging in using FTP to my Tommy account, it says "Authentication failed. Could not connect to server". The account details I'm using are tommy2.heliohost.org, port 1373 Perhaps those have changed? I haven't logged in in a few years. When I logged in to Plesk, it says my account was suspended. It also says there's 1001.5 MB used of 1000 MB, perhaps that's why? I'm not sure why so much space is being used. Perhaps wordpress backups. But I can't log in to FTP to check... Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Quote
Unknown025 Posted Thursday at 06:53 PM Posted Thursday at 06:53 PM An administrator can help you with canceling your VPS. For your Tommy account - you can either request an administrator to delete some files for you, upgrade your account storage, or reset the account from the dashboard page: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/ Quote
robev Posted Thursday at 07:18 PM Author Posted Thursday at 07:18 PM Right that's why I posted this here. I thought an administrator can help me... Regarding deleting things, again, I don't know if that's why my it says my account is suspended, or why I can't log into FTP, and I don't know what files are taking up so much space. Quote
Krydos Posted Thursday at 09:32 PM Posted Thursday at 09:32 PM Your Tommy account was created in 2019, so we always recommend doing a reset on anything that was transferred from cPanel. I started a full backup of the ancient robev account for you, and in a few minutes it will be available to download from https://heliohost.org/backup Once the full backup is downloaded and you are sure you have everything you need let us know and we can do the reset. As far as canceling and deleting the VPS you can do that yourself at https://heliohost.org/dashboard/cancel/ Make sure you login with the username rob33x for your VPS. If you login with your email address it is ambiguous because both the VPS and the Tommy account have the same email address so it will probably default to logging in to Tommy. Quote
robev Posted yesterday at 07:03 AM Author Posted yesterday at 07:03 AM I downloaded it. Thank you. Quote
Krydos Posted yesterday at 05:20 PM Posted yesterday at 05:20 PM Ready to do an account reset now? This will delete all of your files, and reset your account back to the default state. Once the account is recreated you can restore whatever you need from the full backup. Quote
Krydos Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have started the reset. In a few minutes you'll receive an email. Click the link in that email to take the next step in the reset process. Quote
robev Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I'm trying to reuse my old account name robev but it says it's not available. Maybe I need to cancel my VPS first? In any event I cancelled my VPS just now. Still not letting me use robev. If this is the reason for the issue perhaps it needs to be deleted first? It says it's in the queue. Krydos Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The reason is because this forum account has the username robev, so the hosting account robev is reserved for the email address that matches the forum account. This is an intentional feature to help people not have their username stolen as long as the forum account exists. The email address on your hosting account actually matches the forum username repwolfe, but that account doesn't have any posts even so I'm going to merge it to this forum account and set the email address to match the hosting account. Try using the username robev now that the email addresses match. Quote
robev Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Interesting. Okay thank you it's all reset. If I run into any other issues I'll make a new thread. Quote
