b4tra22 Posted Tuesday at 01:35 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:35 PM Hi, i like to setup DNS for my domain. My IPv4: 65.19.154.87 is dedicated to my account, right?
KazVee Posted Tuesday at 02:48 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:48 PM Hello, yes that IP is dedicated to your VPS. We have a DNS Record Management section in our Wiki that may come in handy for you. If you have a more specific query about DNS setup, please let us know and we'll be happy to help.
b4tra22 Posted Tuesday at 03:27 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 03:27 PM I'm setting up a IPV4 hestia control panel, i need to add my domain to helionet DNS, before I update the records at namecheap. I hope what i said makes sense.
b4tra22 Posted yesterday at 08:38 AM Author Posted yesterday at 08:38 AM Hi, The host package does not support my needs, i need ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04, 22.04 if possible debian 10 or 11. or else i will have to cancel this package and get a refund.
Unknown025 Posted yesterday at 09:37 AM Posted yesterday at 09:37 AM I'll escalate your thread so an administrator can address your concerns. We can certainly install another version of Ubuntu or Debian for you, however please refrain from creating multiple threads for similar issues, as it becomes more confusing for everyone involved. HelioHost is run by volunteers, so we can't answer your queries immediately.
b4tra22 Posted yesterday at 10:44 AM Author Posted yesterday at 10:44 AM Sorry about the many threads. I will keep it simple. Please do install ubuntu 20.04 or 22.04. I also sent a thread for the dns setup with the domain the IP should be pointed to, here is the domain once again: lushtrust.co.in, thanks for the support guys.
Krydos Posted yesterday at 05:07 PM Posted yesterday at 05:07 PM We've installed Hestia on Ubuntu 24 nine times in the past few months and no one has reported any issues so far. Also please allow up to 24 hours for any support requests. I am installing Hestia on your Ubuntu 24 VPS now and you'll get an email in about 20 minutes when it is done. It looks like you requested support at 2:38am. Since we're based in the US most of us aren't awake at 2am. Please be patient.
b4tra22 Posted yesterday at 05:57 PM Author Posted yesterday at 05:57 PM Will be looking forward to your update.
Krydos Posted yesterday at 05:58 PM Posted yesterday at 05:58 PM Hestia has been installed on your VPS. You can login by going to https://vps121.heliohost.us:8083/login/ Username: admin Password: <same as you chose for SSH>

KazVee Posted yesterday at 06:31 PM Posted yesterday at 06:31 PM It seems this query has been resolved in the duplicate thread here: https://helionet.org/index/topic/63378-solved-dns-set-up/ I will therefore mark this thread as [Solved] but please do not hesitate to raise a new request if we can offer you any further technical assistance.
b4tra22 Posted yesterday at 07:26 PM Author Posted yesterday at 07:26 PM Please view the attached. I would appreciate any technical assistance to get this sorted on my side Bitvise SSH defalut.tlp - b4tra22@65.19.154.87_22 - Bitvise xterm - 20250122-121912071-M0700.txt
KazVee Posted yesterday at 07:31 PM Posted yesterday at 07:31 PM Thank you very much for confirming. I've removed the [Solved] tag for clarity, if this is not yet solved.
Krydos Posted yesterday at 07:33 PM Posted yesterday at 07:33 PM You are not required to use our nameservers, and for VPS we actually recommend using external DNS. If you use ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org there is no way for you to edit the DNS records yourself. Each time you need to make a change you'll need to open a support request. We don't mind helping you with these issues, but you created a dispute on PayPal because we responded to your request which was posted at 2:38am in 59 minutes, which apparently isn't fast enough for you. If you use our nameservers you will need to accept that support requests may take up to 24 hours to complete. On the other hand, if you use external DNS you can make the changes yourself without contacting support. Cloudflare is a popular free external DNS service that is compatible with our VPS plans.
