Username: urosb, Server: Tommy, Main domain: urosb.helioho.st

Hi,

my account (username: Urosb) was moved to a new server on September 27th. I
use ftp upload function via php to upload one xml file to an external
server. That stopped working after account migration (ftp connection works,
but ftp upload doesn't). Is there any way to allow the ftp upload function
to work again?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Uros

Hi,

I'm using FTP (ftp_fput function).

Hi,

unfortunately not, because the server on the other side only listens to FTP
connections.
Can you somehow enable that for my account (I was using this for years
now...)?

Best regards,
Uros

Are you using active FTP or passive FTP? We recently disabled active FTP, so if you switch to passive it should start working.

Hello,

I use passive mode. Connection works, but upload doesn't.

If you need to send us an image you'll need to send us a link to an image hosting service, such as imgur.com. It might be easier to just login to your forum account at https://helionet.org and post the image that way though.

While you try to figure out images, I went ahead and tested passive insecure FTP on Tommy, and it works fine to upload or download files. If I switch to active mode insecure FTP I can confirm that the connection works, but data doesn't get transferred and results in an empty 0 byte file as expected, because we intentionally disabled it.

Hi,

if I use active mode I get this error:
ftp_fput(): Unable to service PORT commands

and if I use passive mode, I get this error:
ftp_fput(): Type set to A

FTP connection works in both modes, but FTP upload to an external server
doesn't work in either.
Something must have changed, because it stopped working exactly after I
received an email from you, that my account was moved to a new server (on
September 27th). I didn't change anything in my code during that time.
Maybe some kind of problem with php??

Best regards,
Uros

Oh, are you uploading files to Tommy or uploading files from Tommy to some other server? I assumed you were uploading files from your home PC or something to Tommy.

No, no, other way around. I'm uploading FROM Tommy to another external
server (which is not on HelioHost).
This worked until September 27th.

Best regards,
Uros
