nimeshk Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Hi, I want to forward my one subdomain to another server. Because of the storage limit I have, I like to have my blog.mydomain.com subdomain to forward to another server. That particular server needs NS update. They only provided name servers. So I'm in need of updating subdomain's NS. Is it possible? if yes, how can I do it in DND Zone? Thanks. Quote
Luigi123 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 If you would like that domain to point to another server I guess not in Heliohost, you can change it through in the DNS settings menu of your provider’s account where you got your domain. Quote

No, My main domain is pointed to Heliohost server. My site is there. But I created a sub-domain through Heliohost CPanel for a blog. I just only forward that sub-domain from heliohost to another server. Not the main domain. Quote
Sn1F3rt Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 You can just create an A record for the subdomain you need through the DNS Zone Editor and add that. Most services show a requirement for nameserver update but that's actually not needed. Even in cPanel, you can just create an A record for the root domain while having it on Cloudflare (though you have to add the domain first here, and then switch to Cloudflare). 1 Quote
wolstech Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Bingo. Sohamb03's solution is the proper way to accomplish that. Remove the subdomain in cPanel, then go into DNS zone editor and add an A record named "blog" with the IP of the external server. (Note that if you're using an external DNS service like CF, you need to do this at their site instead of in cPanel). Quote
