| Hi srihari92,

A lot of our members use our service because they can't afford to get paid hosting. Obviously since they can't afford paid hosting they also can't afford to donate cash to keep HelioHost going. We've come up with a new way for someone who can't donate to help us continue providing our great service for free. Even if you are able to make a monetary donation, you can still help sustain HelioHost with this new program as well.

You can donate your idle computer.

Have you heard of bitcoins? It takes the processing power of millions of computers around the world to operate these new cryptocurrencies. All of that processing power gets rewarded by earning some of the very currency they are producing. It's one of the most innovative ideas of the last 10 years, and we've made it really easy to help out. We wrote a program called HelioMine that runs on Windows PCs. It works sort of like a screensaver, but it uses the CPU when you're not to mine for cryptocurrency. Each computer on it's own might not be able to accumulate much more than a few cents per day, but if enough of our 17,000 users run this program it could fully fund our service allowing us to buy more servers. With more servers we would be able to expand and improve our services even more.

I've personally been testing this program for the last month and I've single-handedly earned HelioHost over $30. It runs in the background when I'm not needing all of my CPU power, and if it wasn't for the notifications I honestly wouldn't even notice it. You can even disable the notifications if they bother you. I wouldn't ask you to install something on your computer if I wasn't 100% confident that it was thoroughly tested and safe.

If you run antivirus software on your computer it may block our program from operating correctly. The reason for this is because our mining software is so small and unobtrusive that many hackers have tried to sneak something like it onto people's computers without getting permission. The hacker would just use the compromised computer to mine into their own wallet. This is obviously a false positive since you are knowingly installing the software to do exactly what we say it's for. If you need help figuring out how to whitelist it in your particular antivirus application let us know and we can help. Likewise, we aren't able to digitally sign our program so it's going to produce some scary looking messages when you're installing it. This is because it costs a minimum of $75 per year to digitally sign installers. It kind of defeats the point if we lose more money than we gain.

When you install the software it will ask for your HelioHost username. This is so we can track how much each account is mining. We plan on giving out rewards to people who mine a minimum amount each month, and the person who mines the most in a single month, etc. The exact details of the rewards will be published on our news feed once we see how many people are interested in running HelioMine. You aren't limited to one computer either. If you install this on all of your computers with the same username you will get credit for the sum.

Let us know if you have any questions by posting at https://www.helionet.org/ or by simply replying to this email. Thanks for being a member of the community. You are what makes HelioHost great!

1. We've had a couple people ask about linux already. We're huge fans of linux as well, and all of our servers run linux, but we figured statistically more people use windows so we'll write our software for that first. Keep an eye on our news posts on facebook, twitter, and our forum. I intend to post instructions on how to mine with linux soon.

2. We do have plans on how to make phones be able to mine too, but since most phones have far slower processors than computers they wouldn't be as productive. It's possible to write a webpage that will mine for us and all you'd have to do is open that webpage on all of your phones and various devices and you wouldn't even need to install any software at all. For a PC it'll be more productive to use our software than the webpage though. We'll let you know via news once we have the webpage up and functional too.

3. We're a huge proponent of privacy too. The internet is getting ridiculous with giant corporations and countries spying on everyone and everything. In order to combat that we do our best to encourage everyone to use encryption whenever possible, vpns, proxies, tor, and whatever other tools you can use to avoid losing your privacy. That said, we wrote this software ourselves. We know everything that went in to it, and I can assure you with 100% certainty that we are not going to be reading your files. We have no interest in your files, and we have no interest in selling your files to anyone. We don't even sell the email addresses that our users give us like most companies do. Your information is safe. All we're asking is to spare some of your idle cpu power to help us stay in business. We think this is a pretty innovative way to fundraise.

Thanks for being a huge fan. It's users like you that keep HelioHost going. Great questions by the way. Let us know if you have any others.

Hi

I am using Ubuntu, win 10.

In win10 using avast.

While installation avast scans and say safe to install but After installation avast delete the files.

Help !!

I have a exclude path in my system but I am unable to select that path in the installation set up.

Give provision to select installation location and make app portable so that I can copy and run on other PC's and if I feel problem I will delete it and download a latest copy like portableapps site.

Unfortunately, the full software is not capable of being made portable due to the way the software works, though the miner component could be made to run portable for manual mining. A portable miner will be considered for the future, thank you for the suggestion.

As for your antivirus, this is an expected result. Antivirus programs flag it because coin miners are often installed by malware without the user's consent. The software requires the downloaded miner assignments be in the folder C:\ProgramData\RAX Technologies\RGS, and this will not be changing. Please add this folder to your antivirus exclude paths, as all miners downloaded by heliomine will appear in there. Heliomine is a rebranded variant of another program called RGS, and as such it shares code and file paths with that program.
