HelioHost Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 About addon domain dns entry I'm maintaining my dad's shop website and wanted to create an addon domain,= keeping my regular main domain user.heliohost.org, but it didn't allowed m=e to add the domain i bought (platocenter.com.br) because the domain's NS w=asn't pointing to ns1.heliohost.org, but i coudn't change the NS because yo=ur DNS didn't had the entry for that. So i used the domain change script to= add that entry, but only at that moment I realized that the main domain w=ould change, then I changed it back. How can I proceed to add the "platocenter.com.br" DNS entry without changin=g my main domain at heliohost, so the ns1.heliohost.org shows authority ove=r platocenter.com.br so I can transfer the domain to your nameserver, so I =can add it as a addon domain? I hope I made my self clear, thank you very much!
wolstech Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 You specify the nameservers on the registrar's website, not our server. Every registrar is different. If you can't figure it out, email the registrar and ask them to set the nameservers for your domain to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org. Most times the registrar support can do it for you. Our server will not allow you to add the domain until the registrar is showing the NS records pointed to us.

I now managed to add the domain to my account, all the files are in the= right place but when i enter it, it shows a 404 not found page with the me=ssage "The requested URL / was not found on this server.". I've cleaned my =browser data to make sure it's not a local problem. What should i do? You'll have to set your nameservers to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org if you want to host that domain with us. Otherwise you should contact whoever owns the IP 142.4.21.201 because that is where your domain is currently hosted.

It's sti=ll giving a Not Found page. What could it be? Could you check if the domain= is actually pointing to my account? Krydos Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 It looks like http://platocenter.com.br/ is working now. For future reference it can take up to 48 hours for your nameservers to update depending on your registrar, and when you add a domain to our servers it can take up to 24 hours to start working. It's likely that you just didn't wait long enough on one or both steps.
