Win XP Pro. And every once in a while I toy around with linux (different builds). And Ive never had any major problems with windows that I didnt cause. I find that most instability issues (most, not all) are user related.

This may be a stupid question, but since I dont use cPanel all that much how do we run CHMOD 755 unix command? Im assuming from somewhere in the cPanel...

Yes, or something similar anyway. I am able to use the forums (obviously) but am unable to access my site. I believe this has been addressed by djbob already. It has to do with open file limitations.

It worked for you on vista? sweet! I had a friend try it on vista and it didnt work for him. What version are you running? And to answer the question, I used those as formating characters. I may change that when I get around to making my own custom encryption algorythm, but itll do for now.

I would assume that these outages are due to djbob doing updates and or trying to find/fix the security hole that was used to hack the server, just a guess though.

Hey everyone I made a new project. Its an account and password manager. This project was a cross language test for me, did the encryption in c++ in the dll and the main application in c#, crossing the managed / unmanaged code barrier. Available Here My system is running XP Pro SP3 I havent been able to test it on any other platform as yet, at the least it should be able to cross windows platforms (vista, nt, 2k), or thats what im hoping at anyrate. djbob, I am actually getting the error now too when I wasnt getting it before, and nothing has changed on my website. I went through my code to see if there was actually a color set to 0x00000, I have colors set to #000000 (black) but not specificaly 0x00000. Re-uploaded the site and no change. Any ideas? I've never used it but im sure you can use MSVC++ '08 Express in place of MS Visual Studio '05. Just make sure you have the DXSDK installed as well!

I think this topic probly belongs in the 'Art and Entertainment' section. In reply though, Freelancer is, hands down, my favorite space flight/fighter sim. MMORPG's are by far the most popular of MMO's, though I have seen one or two MMORTS's in development in recent years. As for EVE, the game is hard to place in one genre of MMO because it has aspects from a couple different styles of game play. RPG, RTS, and I wouldnt say that is a flight/fight sim, because from what Ive seen all the combat is automated, but I believe they catagorize the game as that as well. There is a game that has a huge fan base and is entirely mod based, though I cant for the life of me think of why its so freakin big, called Second Life. The idea is that people create and modify the world entirely on there own, no point to it that i know of though.

Holy crap that is one massive and broad question. I would recommend starting out, for the basic site editing, by either: A: Reading a book/tutorials on basic HTML editing or B: Learning how to use a program like Dream Weaver/Front Page

Hmmm... well I s'pose that depends on your definition of "design" lol. If by design you meen creative, story, character development... I hadnt planned on doing that. But if its something that a bunch of people are interested in, I may do a few tutorials on creative design and documentation.

True that might work have a redirect to a page that has only that, then have a paused redirect from there forcing it into their brain for 5-6 seconds.

I think Trippin was joking, and I dont think that a page, or multiple pages of rules before the account creation would be all that effective. How many people, everyone here included, can actually say they read everything presented to them before accepting something, signing up for something, or clicking 'play'? I know I certainly dont read everything usually just the first few lines to see if its the same as everything else Ive ever read in a EULA. Just my opinion.

Thats about right, but once you get your conf. email and activate you may still have to wait upto 24 hours to access your site/ftp/cpanel.
