  1. Max, 14, Male, New Zealand.. I like things to do with computers. :S
  2. I use Gentoo. Good for your first distribution.
  3. Downloading it now.. Will sometimes need it for documents for school etc, that's pretty much it though.. I prefer raw text.
  4. I only pirate music, when they have something like a one-hit-wonder and it isn't worth buying their CD. Also, I think this is the wrong forum.. Open Source is when you can download a program or script's source code, so that you can edit and compile it on various operating systems, rather than being limited to just Windows.
  5. Firefox all the way. Gotta love the add-ons, and themes, plus the Gecko based rendering engine (I'd say it renders faster and cleaner than the IE rendering engine, and I believe this is true). It's so much more convenient than Internet Explorer, and the fact that's already pointed out, it's avaliable on almost all operating systems, since it's open source (I use Gentoo Linux).
  6. Check4Change DisableBackspaceNavigation Download Statusbar DownThemAll! GetVideo HostIP.info Geolocation Plugin Image Zoom (Doesn't seem to work with right click and wheel on Linux ) President Bush Countdown Web Developer (This is good for Devs, you can edit the HTML or CSS on any page live, rather than editing it on your host, saving it, then reloading it to see if it's right) Those are my favourite ones I have.
  7. You could get a control-panel like tool for developing PHP based pages automatically. I believe there is one called "Joomla", which is a tool where you install the control-panel, and then you can choose a template to use, and add content to the pages, it also has features that you can put around the content automatically like menu items, search boxes, and login tools. I prefer to build scripts I use (Other than full programs that I compile to use on Linux) from scratch, starting with a blank page.
  8. Using a torrent to download files has the same laws against them as just downloading them from an HTTP/FTP server.. Also, the laws differ depending on what country you are in.
  9. I prefer my address being @gmail.com, I like Google.
  10. Lol.. I remember back in the days, drag and dropping with Game Maker.. And yes, Auto-Hotkey is mainly used for macros, but can also produce GUIs, and has other uses, such as adding shortcut keys to almost anything, you can also use it for using unsupported joysticks in games, by remapping the joystick buttons to keys, and the axis to the mouse (I remember controlling the mouse with my PS2 controller using this program).
  11. PHP Bit of JavaScript Starting Actionscript HTML CSS Logo
  12. I started with PHP. Why is that not on there? It's a basic language to understand.
  13. Try http://winehq.org/ It's a Windows XP executable emulator for other operating systems, such as Linux. You can also download Windows pre-compiled binaries there too, which I presume are for emulating Windows XP programs on 95, 98, ME, and 2000.
  14. I find cable more stable than when I had ADSL on my old ISP. Not to mention faster.
  15. Hell no, It'll just be rubbish like those other Apple products.. Macs are very unstable, and iPods break/brick easily, there are many more problems with them that I can't think of off the top of my head..
  16. 2.4GHz P4 (Motherboard can't overclock, running at 40C under safe temp) 2 HDDs: HDA is 80GB with 2 partitions, HDB is 40GB with 2 partitions. 1024MB RAM (Upgraded a while ago.. Max my motherboard can take. I'll free some hard drive space for a swap drive some time.) Windows XP and Gentoo Linux operating systems (I prefer Gentoo, but I'll keep Windows just incase) Integrated Video and Sound cards (Both intel), hasn't got any special PCI slots, so hard to find a good video card for it. Integrated ethernet 100mb/s card.. CD-RW (I'll get a DVD-RW some time..) That's about all I can think of right now. :S
  17. All arrogant ant-eaters ate ants and apples, also an advert advertised appliances!
  18. Your Mum stole the stars from the skies and put them in your eyes.
  19. 1577 Aw, not a prime number (According to my 784,784 I've outputted from a PHP script I made).
  20. Yes, it shouldn't have the space between java and script.. Java script and JavaScript are complete different things: Java is a language for programming fully capable programs, they are almost as strong as C. JavaScript on the other hand is a language for adding dynamic HTML content to web pages viewed in a browser.
  21. Linux all the way. Apparently, Linux has the same security with no Firewall as Windows does with full (Windows) Firewall . God [bleeped!], here's one of those ads now... Anyway, you can emulate most good programs compiled for Windows (Such as Macromedia Flash, and Adobe Photoshop) with Wine on Linux.
