    Domain Cleanup

This is perfect. I love it. Once mine get deleted, I'll blank this post so search engines also don't index the domain names. <removed> I assume I need to keep my base subdomain, as it links to my account somehow, but I don't actually use it. Thanks for staying on top of things!
  2. I discovered that an .htaccess file was breaking a site of mine, throwing an "Options not allowed here" error, with Plesk which had previously worked with cPanel. I saw that this is a known issue. Disabled htaccess, index page loaded but everything else was broken due to needing mod rewrite... which works on another site. Checked Plesk help, but their suggestions don't work because we don't have access to the Apache & nginx Settings controls. So... I just troubleshooted. Commented line by line. I discovered the offending line: Options -Indexes Ideally, I'd like to have them disabled, but getting the site back online was good. Anyway, I'm posting this because I thought I'd document specifically which .htaccess directive is broken. This could help either Heliohost admins trying to resolve the .htaccess issues, or site admins trying to troubleshoot their own .htaccess issues. I would encourage other admins who figure out other troublesome directives to share them here for the same purposes. Apologies if this thread is disruptive, duplicative, in the wrong place, etc. I searched to see if this existed already and found nothing.
  3. The Plesk ETA tool is missing a donation I made in the past year. Not a big priority, didn't mention this the first time I used the ETA tool and saw it, doesn't really matter right now given the pace of account moves, but... thought I'd request this correction all the same (as instructed by the ETA page itself). Thanks for all your hard work, especially over this very difficult past year or two (for HelioHost and the world). I'm hoping to be able to donate more soon, ideally regularly.
  4. I'm assuming SSL certs will be updated/replaced once Plesk is up and running and not until then...?
  5. This whole situation is weird because... Plesk and cPanel (and WHMCS) are both subsidiaries of WebPros, itself a vehicle of that firm, British Oakley Capital. It's weird that the right hand is driving you(/us) away with price hikes and bad behavior while the left hand is wooing with a good deal and responsive sales/support teams. This conglomerate could just as well have lost a client instead. I must also reiterate the wish that a FOSS solution was available which could meet Helio's needs, and disappointment that such a cross-platform solution isn't readily available.
  6. Please move my account to Tommy from Ricky. User: jbbdude Paypal Transaction ID: 27843631TC2179812 Amount: $5 (Does this entail double storage?) Thanks.
  7. The CPanel SSL tools are still broken for me, and I still don't have CPanel-issued SSL certs active for my domains...
  8. I attempted to remove and re-add the problem domain from my account. However, when I try to remove it as an add-on domain, I receive the error: “family.block.ovh” is not a parked domain. Clearly something is messed up in the config for this domain.
  9. I checked a few more spots. The SSL/TLS Status page is blank. The SSL/TLS Wizard page crashes with the error: The “SSL::installed_hosts” API failed due to the following error: Unrecognized vhost: “family.block.ovh” at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Config/WebVhosts.pm line 310. I suspect that one domain has some messed up SSL configuration, which could be causing the auto SSL to fail and is preventing these CPanel tools from functioning.
  10. My site has two cPanel certificates that don't cover most of the domains I have set up, and the rest are self-signed which isn't treated well by Chrome and other browsers. I manually generated a Let's Encrypt certificate and I was trying to install that.
  11. I have been able to add an SSL certificate with the CRT page. However, when I try to access the SSL Install page, I get the following error: A fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive. [close] Template::Exception: [TYPE]=[undef] [INFO]=[SSL::installed_hosts() failed: Unrecognized vhost: “family.block.ovh” at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Config/WebVhosts.pm line 310. ] [TEXT]=[] at cpanel.pl line 1043. cpanel::cpanel::cptt_exectag("/usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern/ssl/install.htm"..., 1) called at cpanel.pl line 4637 cpanel::cpanel::run_standard_mode() called at cpanel.pl line 857 cpanel::cpanel::script("cpanel::cpanel", "./frontend/paper_lantern/ssl/install.html.tt") called at cpanel.pl line 272 My domains are all working with HTTP.
  12. It's not just MySQL. I use flat file CMSes that are having intermittent issues. Ricky is just way overloaded.
  13. Thank you so much! I was ripping my hair out. I knew the CMS subfolders all had the proper 755 permissions but didn't check the folder itself. I guess cPanel defaults with 644 when creating a subdirectory for a subdomain/domain.
  14. This is weird. That file is working in the root directory, but an identical PHP file is failing in a subdirectory(/subdomain/domain). Grav, Kirby, and WonderCMS (as installed by Softaculous) are also failing in subdirectories. (Edit: removed links) I'm still troubleshooting... Tried setting a PHP version for that directory with MultiPHP Manager/.htaccess, no change. Any thoughts?
  15. A number of businesses actually cover all fees for payments made to non-profits, including Facebook and the PayPal Giving Fund (not normal PayPal donation).
  16. I've tried inheriting, PHP 7.2 and PHP 7.1 with MultiPHP Manager. I can't get any working. Can someone check my account on the backend to see why PHP would be failing?
  17. This issue is persisting for me. Is PHP down for all on Ricky, or is something configured wrong on my account?
  18. Evidently I was mistaken...
  19. What's causing the PHP failure? I'm even getting a 500 on a PHP file containing only <?php phpinfo();I see high server load (as a percentage? what are the units?) and memory. I don't know how that would kill PHP functionality entirely.
  20. Software on Ricky seems to have been down intermittently for some time. I have been getting 500 errors on all PHP pages. Plain HTML files are being served, so Apache seems to be OK. I have gotten on-and-off errors when trying to load Softaculous and MultiPHP Manager. They have been returning errors about the cpanel subprocess receiving the "kill" signal. At this moment, both seem to be working (albeit sluggishly). I understand the high Ricky load, due to the Tommy issue. Is there a page which identifies which services are functioning?
  21. I've been having performance issues with Joomla on Ricky (understandable given its state) so I thought I'd experiment with Grav, as well as other static CMSes like WonderCMS. Unfortunately, it seems Ricky's PHP isn't working at the moment. Jekyll requires Ruby, so it won't work on Ricky.
  22. I was able to add web.jbbdude.win to the account. Thank you!
  23. Please unblock [edit: IP address]. I tried to log in to SFTP with the wrong username a few times... Also, if possible, please censor/blank out the IP after unblocking.
  24. Thanks so much for clarifying and confirming. If web.jbbdude.win is locked to Johnny, I'd be OK with deleting the jbbdude2 account on Ricky (along with the two domains I have there now) and move to jbbdude (restored) or a new account on Johnny. Whatever works. Apologies for the complication. I know now is a rough time.
  25. Re: www.joshbblock.com Tl;dr: I figured out the issue. As I suspected, the issue is that cPanel chops off www in a domain name. But it's even worse. I used wolstech's advice to redelegate the domain from the registrar, then flip back. This worked. for www subdomains, cPanel clearly checks the naked domain's DNS delegation. However, after I added the domain as www.joshbblock.com, it showed up in cPanel as joshbblock.com, the naked domain. Evidently, for www.domain.tld, cPanel ignores the www subdomain. The site will then be served with both www or the naked domain. For anything else, e.g. web.domain.tld, cPanel respects it and treats it as the domain. This makes sense, as third level domains can be domain names, e.g. domain.co.uk. Lesson: to add www for a domain, one must add the naked domain. However, unfortunately, cPanel does this by putting www as a CNAME to the naked domain. To get www served, the naked domain's A record still needs to point to HelioHost. Thus, the naked domain's A record/DNS delegation would still need to point to HelioHost. I could point the www's A record directly to the Ricky IP address, 64.62.211.134, or set CNAME to ricky.heliohost.org. Both are unsupported, I know. I'm trying the latter for now; it would update if Ricky's IP changes. It seems to be working, which is to be expected. Re: web.jbbdude.win Can the name be removed from the records so I can add it to my new account? (Or the old account reactivated and the new deleted) This would be much appreciated.
