  1. Regarding the mysql issue on Stevie, it is not improving and today mysql has been down for a cumulative time of over an hour. I don't wish to complain and I understand this is a free service so I can't expect people to get out of their way to fix problems, however, is there anything being done to fix this? Or perhaps is there anything at all that can be done to fix this? Thank you for the friendly service.

  2. It broke on February 17th I believe, and nobody knows when it'll be fixed. As yashrs said, you can just delete the files and drop the database. As for installation of software, download it from the maker's website, upload it, and unpack the archive in file manager. Then just follow whatever instructions it comes with for installation. If it gives you database errors, you'll need to ask the maker how to modify it to not use InnoDB tables. I'd avoid remote install scripts. I've used a few that got flagged as malware. Also, cURL causes quite a bit of load. If anything, it adds complexity and probably increases your chances of being suspended.

  3. My website is working fine(also on Stevie, and also Wordpress). Try to follow these steps:- 1. Create a new user for MYSQl in cPanel and grant required priviligies for wordpress to work to the DB. 2. Change the name of the user and the password of the user in the wp-config.php file via the file manager in cPanel. 3. Also check the Database name in wp-config.php file. 4. After updating the user/password in the wp-config.php your website should work fine. Had happened to me once, all the priviligies granted to the user were lost, and granting the user the rights did the work for me

  4. Even I haven't heard anything about repair progress in a few weeks, so I wouldn't expect a fix in the immediate future. I'm in the same boat as everyone else, frustrated by frequent downtime due to database issues. Unlike you guys though, I can't switch to a different DB like postgres or sqlite since my applications are mostly custom stuff.
