  3. All HelioHost staff are unpaid volunteers. We have full-time jobs and lives outside this project, and we run the organization in our free time. If we are busy, things may not get done very quickly. Help is usually provided within 24 hours, but there is no guaranteed timeframe. Due to time zone differences (most staff are based in North America) and real-life commitments like work, school, and family, response times can vary. Unlike for-profit hosting companies with full-time employees working 40 hours a week, it is rare for any of our volunteers to work more than an hour or so per day. No one is required to log hours and volunteers come and go as they please. If we are not having fun volunteering, providing support, chatting with the community, or developing new features, we take a break and focus on other things. This is why we do not offer SLAs or ETAs for new features or repairs, and why things move a little slower than with a commercial host. Bumping a thread without answering a request for more information will not speed up replies to you.

  9. We've been seeing these 503s a lot recently, heavy traffic to the server (including intermittent DDoS attacks against webmail) have been to blame for those. It's caused by the server being too busy with other requests, not really anything you can fix on your part. The error itself "can't apply process slot" basically means there were no process slots left to start PHP when your website was called. I've asked again about these errors in a staff channel since you're not the only one complaining about them, but there isn't a fix for these at the moment besides switching to Morty or buying a VPS and running your own server. Error 504 is usually a result of your script taking too long to execute. This could be inefficient code, or could just be high server load (server too busy to finish within the timeout period). Error 502 if you see it would be Apache restarting and is normal. Usually happens every 2 hours and lasts a few minutes.
  10. Your account was suspended for High Server Usage due to using 200.28 GB memory when the daily limit is 200 GB. I have unsuspended the account now, please give it a few moments to get back up and running. Please fix the issue quickly since if there are no code changes made, it's very likely the system will suspend your account again. If you're not sure how to reduce your account load, let us know more about what apps / programming language you're using and we can offer tips to try to keep the load down. For example, WordPress and Node are among the top reasons for accounts to be suspended.

  17. Hello, I am not able to ssh into VPS12. I recently upgraded from ubuntu 20 to 22. I was able to upgrade, but after reboot, I am not able to ssh into it.

  21. Hey everyone, My website is fully live, but I’m running into some frustrating issues. The most frequent problem is a 503 Service Unavailable error. Occasionally, I also get a 504 Gateway Timeout. On top of that, the site experiences constant lag though oddly, when I ping the domain, I get a stable 53ms response. However, trying to load specific pages results in endless loading and sluggish performance. My users trying to access the website also experience the same things I did. I’m trying to figure out whether this is a problem with the website itself or something related to the server configuration. Would really appreciate any insights or suggestions!   22. You've got to admit this does not scream "I'm a legitimate email provider" We see criminals, phishers, spammers, etc. sign up with email addresses that when checked have messages like this all the time. Unsuspended.
  23. Hi, It is not a disposable email address. It is an alias. I apply aliases to every account I sign up for. Banks, cellular providers, airlines, etc. The alias forwards the email back to my primary email address. That way I can maintain my privacy and not have spam going direct to my primary email. Also, I can filter any spam messages based on which alias receives it. It is a sensible way to handle email accounts. Right now I could generate a fresh gmail address and give you that as my contact detail. Now that (gmail) would really be a disposable address. If my alias email is "disposable" then how come I am seeing daily "LetsEncrypt" warning email alerts showing up on it. Disposable = Use it once for an hour, and then it disappears.
