A 504 on Johnny usually means the server is overloaded or script is broken (it's caused by a timeout due to something that can't finish fast enough). Could be anything from DDoS to someone else overusing resources. Lets see if Krydos might have more information on what happened, as the load charts I can see on our side only show the past hour...

I have doubts that this was simply a routine restart symptom: The error was a 504 timeout (not 502 until right before it started working again) and it was on Johnny It lasted for about an hour Right before it started working, plain HTTP non-PHP sites briefly gave errors, as @jchal reported I've grown accustomed to the periodic mini-outages of PHP sites on Johnny. This was a different error and much longer, which is why I reported it.

Appears to be working again. Keep in mind that these errors are normal during Apache restarts on Johnny (502) and Tommy (appears as a 504 instead of a 502), and can last up to 10 minutes. Apache restarts occur about every 2 hours. https://wiki.helionet.org/502_Bad_Gateway Morty users don't experience these because the restarts complete in seconds due to the server being both much faster/newer, and less crowded.

Also getting 502 Bad Gateway or 504 Gateway Timeout - not necessarily PHP related - just for a regular static HTML page.

When I hit sites that use PHP, I get a 504 Gateway Time-out from nginx. Started about an hour ago.

What IP is the external connection coming from? We can check if its blocked. Also, you should be using tommy.heliohost.org:3306 (or if you moved back to Morty, morty.heliohost.org:3306). While it may sometimes work, we do not officially support using the user domains for SQL connections.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to access my MYSQL db from outside the heliohost although the remote access is enabled. Previously, I was on morty and was able to access it via my domain akbaig.heliohost.us (was never able to access it via the IPv4) However, when I got moved to tommy, i'm no longer able to access it. Then I resubscribed to morty.. and im still unable to access akbaig.heliohost.us:3306 for the purpose of sql. Any idea?

Try using tommy.heliohost.org as the hostname instead of your domain. Also, since your account moved, make sure the remote access is still enabled for the database.

DKIM, SPF, and DMARC have been set up for the domain ekm.helioho.st. We recommend sending a real email (not just the word "test" or a blank email) to https://www.mail-tester.com/ to make sure that everything is set up correctly. If you get less than a 10/10 score please post a link to the full report so we can help you fix any other issues that there may be.

An administrator can configure DKIM for you. In the meantime, you can try sending a sample email to https://www.mail-tester.com/ and see what it suggests to improve your email delivery performance.

hello. please, I have a problem with email delivery. is it possible to add DKIM + SPF + DMARC. my domain is "ekm.helioho.st". when I was on TOMMY it worked. the web application sent the email fine. now it doesn't arrive on most emails. thank you.

I was recently using morty, and i basically used my domain name to connect to the mysql database from outside. However, being shifted to tommy, unable to do that anymore? Also tried the newly assigned IPv4 address but in vain. Any ideas?
