[Solved] FTP upload

Hi , hope you can help, I have a daily upload from a ubuntu server via FTP,
last successful upload was  Thu Feb 19 19:03:01 UTC 2026 , after that have Login incorrect .
I am able to login to https://tommy.heliohost.org/ but also not able to change password. But this may be a separate issue.
Could you please advise?
If there is a different way of doing upload , with using a certificate , I would be grateful for information...

I wonder if the Tommy upgrades last week broke it. Kind of weird that you can't change the password, as that would usually be the first suggestion.

Are you using FTP(S), or SFTP? I would suggest trying SFTP if possible (use tommy.heliohost.org as the host name, port 1373, and you plesk username and password for the credentials).

Thanks, using  FTP at the moment, possibly tried SFTP before , but didn't work , due to port.
I ll try SFTP shortly . I also created another plesk user (ubuntu - webmaster), so will use that instead I shouldn't be using owners username for transfer.. The changing password issue , I think was there before , its weird that it says incorrect old password, but I am using the password I have just logged in with an dI tried with typing in the notepad and pasting there.
I ll post the results.

The problem might be on my side , I am testing port 1373 and the previously working 21, neither getting through. Despite I have NSG configured and attached to the  ubuntu server.(Azure)
and the same NSG allowing me to connect to that server on port 22.
General Internet access ( port 443 ) is OK from the ubuntu.
I ll have to think of an alternative and may be run that python script on heliohost, so there is no need to upload anything.
The python script requires some modules, that I am not sure if they would be available on heliohost. ( python-ogn- client).

That module doesn't appear to be installed, but we may be able to add it. If you decide to run it here, let us know and we can look into whether that can be installed for you.

Perfect , thank you for the list , it would be useful. The module is tiny only 25 python-only files , no dependencies. I copied it in a local folder.
But now I am presented with expected problem of an outgoing connection block.
ERROR: Cannot connect to aprs.glidernet.org:14580 (111: Connection refused)
This is probably blocked on Heliohost ?

We don’t allow outbound on nonstandard ports by default. I assume the remote end’s port can’t be changed? If not Krydos can unblock it.

Thanks. The remote is a kind of global platform, I doubt that can be done.
How can I ask  Krydos to unblock it? @Krydos Could you please help?

I am trying to run APRS collector python script running, but it requires an outbound connection to port 14580 to  aprs.glidernet.org

Outbound TCP port 14580 on Tommy has been opened to 85.188.1.173, 148.251.228.229, 51.68.189.96, and 51.178.19.212.

Does it work now?

It looks like it works now

I will leave collecting aprs packet today and will let you know if any problems.
Quick question, if python script is running all day for 11 hours, is there any task killer that might stop it?

No. That said, it will still get killed if you exceed your load limit and get suspended. As of right now, it looks like the script is using so few resources that that won't be an issue.
