I was looking for SSH access to install npm and composer. Do I need to change to one of the other two servers? Thanks, wapps
wolstech Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 SSH is not available on any of the Plesk plans for security reasons. You would need to buy a VPS for SSH access. That said, both Composer and Node are available and can be managed directly though Plesk. Please be mindful of Node / NPM though, it's very easy to get suspended for high load when using Node. Using npm to install packages in your account is fine, but using it to start a node application almost always result in a load suspension on Johnny or Tommy because there is no way to stop the application. Letting Plesk start it means Passenger can kill the application when it has no traffic to reduce load.
