Username: gbrl, Server: Tommy, Main domain: gbrl.helioho.st

Hi there,

I got a "paid" account with the username gbd, is it possible to switch this
to Gbrl and then delete this inactive account?
Or transfer the "paid" server to this account and delete the other?

Thanks for your service!

Mit freundlichen Gr??en / Best regards
Gabriel

Sure. We can delete your Tommy account if you would like. I see on my end that you switched to a VPS back in September.

Since you're emailing from the address associated with the account, please just reply confirming that you're OK with all of the data on the Tommy account being permanently deleted, and we'll remove it for you.

Hi there,

To clarify, is the "Tommy" account the same as the "Gbrl" account that I
mentioned in my previous email?
If I delete it, can the username be transferred to the gbd/paid account?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,
Gabriel

On a VPS you can create as many users as you want with whatever usernames you want. The username that you use to login to heliohost.org has to be unique though, so that's why you had to choose a different username on your VPS since the Tommy account still existed at the time.

I'm aware that the user accounts on the VPS itself are "my thing".

Nevertheless I would prefer to have the consistency of Gbrl as username on
heliohost.org too.
I mean for the account which controls the VPS.

Is that possible?

I created a full backup of your Tommy account in case you suddenly realize you need something from that account. You can download the full back from https://heliohost.org/backup/ if you need it.

I created a new user named gbrl on your VPS and gave them sudo privileges. I left the gbd account alone, so you have 3 accounts on there now. The new gbrl account should have the same password as the existing gbd account, but you can always change the password with the passwd command. To change the gbrl account's password if you can't login, first login to gbd, then run sudo su to switch to root, and then run passwd gbrl, and that should allow you to change the password of the new account.

I also changed your username in the heliohost.org website so you should be able to login with the username gbrl (or your email address) and the password that the gbd account is currently using.

Let us know if you need help with anything else.
