nuk
Sorry to bother you, but I think I may need your help based on your actions in <https://helionet.org/index/topic/62588-paid-domain> where you manually added a paid custom domain to the user's account. Heliohost username: ukanuk2 https://ukanuk.heliohost.org is working normally https://micahlindstrom.com and https://www.micahlindstrom.com show the Plesk login page instead of my site. Server: honestly not 100% sure whether I'm on Johnny or Tommy. Think I donated to get on Tommy awhile ago, but I don't see it listed in Plesk and logging in at https://heliohost.org/login/ sends me to https://johnny.heliohost.org/smb/web/view which suggests I'm on Johnny. And my IP in Plesk 64.62.151.106 corresponds to neither the Johnny nor Tommy IPs in https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/dns-record-management/external-dns-hosting/cloudflare I read through https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/dns-record-management/external-dns-hosting/cloudflare and https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/dns-record-management/heliohost-dns-records/manage-heliohost-dns-records and https://wiki.helionet.org/management/main-domain and https://wiki.helionet.org/management/parked-addon-and-sub-domains and https://wiki.helionet.org/hosting/what-heliohost-is-not and https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/plesk/create-website I logged into Plesk to get my site server's IP Addresses from https://johnny.heliohost.org/smb/web/view/1129/hosting-settings IPv4 address 64.62.151.106 IPv6 address 2001:470:1:1ee::2009 I set A, AAAA, CNAME, and NS records with my registrar Porkbun. I also set MX and TXT records, but those are only needed for mail per https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/dns-record-management/external-dns-hosting/cloudflare. I'm using Porkbun nameservers instead of HelioHost's due to a previous Heliohost server migration where iirc, I had to manually change stuff anyway either by doing it myself or talking to HelioHost staff, and I chose the option which would hopefully be less work for HelioHost and more learnings for myself. I waited a few days and validated the records on DnsChecker.org https://dnschecker.org/#A/micahlindstrom.com 64.62.151.106 https://dnschecker.org/#NS/Micahlindstrom.com maceio.ns.porkbun.com curitiba.ns.porkbun.com salvador.ns.porkbun.com fortaleza.ns.porkbun.com https://dnschecker.org/#CNAME/micahlindstrom.com Nothing? This was working before when I had it set in Porkbun to Host: www.micahlindstrom.com, Answer: micahlindstrom.com, TTL:600, so I am guessing that's not the issue. wolstech
It's because the domain micahlindstrom.com isn't added to your account. It won't let me add that domain in the system either for some reason though (keeps failing). More than likely this domain has gone corrupt somewhere. Escalating to Krydos... Krydos
Your domain has been added. Delete the micahlindstrom.com/index.html file and upload your files there to get your site set up.
Krydos
3 hours ago, nuk said: Think I donated to get on Tommy awhile ago, but I don't see it listed in Plesk It looks like you donated $1 in 2017-02-05. When we lost our cPanel licenses in 2021 we started rebuilding Tommy with Plesk first and then started moving our largest donors over first. Our plan was obviously to put all the donors back on the donor server, but as we moved more and more people we ran into a dilemma: Johnny, our free server, had 100% uptime and barely anyone on it, and was much faster than Tommy. Meanwhile Tommy was completely overloaded, slow, had really high load, and the uptime was dropping down to 97% or lower. I guess it's a good problem to have so many donors that we can't even fit them onto one server, but it's a terrible idea to punish donors with terrible service and slow servers and give the fastest best servers to our free users. So the choice was to continue packing all of our donors onto our slowest most overloaded server, or put the remaining donors on the fastest server with barely any accounts on it. I believe the cut off was $1 or higher donations made after 2020-07-15 or so ended up on Tommy, and $1 donors prior to that date went to Johnny instead. At the time we told all of the remaining donors that we would allow them to move back to Tommy someday after the servers were balanced better. Anyways, Johnny still has better uptime right now, but you're welcome to move back to Tommy for free now if you wish.
nuk
Thank you for resolving this! No need to move servers, both Tommy and Johnny work fine for me as long as I know which one I'm on, i.e. what I should be setting for MX records and such. I've donated more than just that $1 in the years since, I'm super thankful for the service and believe I've more than covered my hardware and software costs through donations. Although every time I get support from one of you guys, I feel bad about using your valuable time. So just sent another donation, thank you again!
