LaurentFR Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Hi, I'd like to use an alias for my account. Hosting account username : laurentd Alias : secondary.mydomain.net Destination : mydomain.net If needed, feel free to remove the current destination and replace it with the alias. Thank you ย Edited September 18 by LaurentFR
wolstech Posted June 10 Posted June 10 We aren't able to add aliases (multiple domains pointed to the same document root) at this time because our management software has a bug that specifically affects accounts containing aliases. Fixing this bug is on our to-do list. We can add this as a subdomain for you, but it will have its own document root and you'd need to put an .htaccess in there that redirects it to the target domain.
LaurentFR Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 ok, thats's fine for me, just add the subdomain, it's not a problem for me if it has its own document root. Thanks for the answer ย
LaurentFR Posted September 16 Author Posted September 16 (edited) Hi, Can you redo the procedure ? These settings disappeared because of the data loss issue that happened earlier. I'd like to use an alias for my account. Hosting account username : laurentd Alias : secondary.mydomain.net Destination : its own document root If needed, feel free to remove the current destination and replace it with the alias. Thank you ย Edited September 18 by LaurentFR
KazVee Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Hello! The fix for the ability to addย aliases is still being worked on, but for the time being I've done the same as we did last time: I've added it as aย subdomain for you, which has its own document root. You'll need to put an .htaccess in there to redirect it to the target domain. Your new sudomain may takeย up to 2 hours to be fully working. If after 2 hours, it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/misc/clear-your-cacheย Pleaseย let us know if we can help with anything else. ๐ ย
wolstech Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Aliases are fixed already, there's just no UI to add them and it's not thoroughly tested (though "accidental testing" of the fix shows it works...). We can add an alias manually if they want one (in this case it would require removing the addon domain first). 1
LaurentFR Posted September 18 Author Posted September 18 Just logged in and saw the alias added. Thanks for your helpย 1
