garrigue Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Hello, I wanted to install moodle from plesk. The version 3.xx is available but actually the last version is 4.xx and the difference between these 2 versions is big ! How to resolve this? Thank you
Krydos Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Have you tried this? https://docs.moodle.org/400/en/Installing_Moodle
garrigue Posted July 7, 2022 Author Posted July 7, 2022 I would prefer to use the automated method provided by plesk. I guess it will also manage updates the same way as softaculous did. Isn't it?
wolstech Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Unfortunately Moodle 4.x is not available through Plesk's application installer yet. I just ran the update check on it, and the latest offering for Moodle is 3.10.10-156. These application installer tools sometimes take a few months to catch up when applications update, and I know back with Softaculous on cPanel, sometimes it never caught up at all. You'll need to either use 3.x through the installer or manually install 4.x from their website. 1
garrigue Posted July 26, 2022 Author Posted July 26, 2022 OK, thank you. Does Plesk's application installer also manage updates?
Krydos Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 Yes, when there is an update there will be a notification when you log in to Plesk and a link to go update your software.
