You need to delete the default index.html file in the remote directory. That's the file that is showing the construction page. To show you that file I renamed the under construction file to index.default.html and made a new index.html that just says "Hello." that you can see at https://wa2uetwx.heliohost.us/

I don't see the weather station files in the correct remote directory though. Not sure where they're going. The correct remote directory is

/home/admin/web/wa2uetwx.heliohost.us/public_html/

Ah ha, I found the weather station files. You're using the wrong username and the wrong remote directory.

Incorrect weather station username: wa2uet
Correct weather station username: admin
Incorrect remote directory: /home/wa2uet/
Correct remote directory: /home/admin/web/wa2uetwx.heliohost.us/public_html/

The confusion is probably coming from the username wa2uet is used for SSH, and the username admin is being used for SFTP. If you need to log in and install new software via SSH then you would use wa2uet, but if you want to upload files to your website you would use the username admin. Let us know if you need any additional help.

Thanks, I will work with this tomorrow. Day is over here. Not sure where you
are. I appreciate your help so far. This stuff comes kind of hard for me. I
am 82 years old and love trying but need help.
Thanks again,
Stan

I used that correct remote directory but maybe I am putting it in the wrong
place. I did not deliberately use that incorrect directory string anywhere.
Interesting. I also tried with both "wa2uet" and "admin" for user name. I
am obviously doing it wrong. I will keep trying.

Well, if you used the correct remote path and the wrong username it probably would have ended up where it was because the wa2uet user doesn't have access to the admin user's home directory. HelioHost is based in the US.

This morning my weather station will not connect to heliopost! I don't know
why, I did not change anything. The new password sent to me was for the
control panel only I assume. Anyway I tried it to connect and that did not
work either.
I'm lost for the moment!

In the VWS software it asks for "current working directory". That is where I
enter the string you gave me,
"/home/admin/web/wa2uetwx.heliopost.us/public_html"
This apparently is not working right. Not sure what to do about it.

I keep trying things but I think maybe the reason that my attempts do not
work is because I cannot log in with the "admin" ID. No matter what I do, it
will not log in with that ID. I don't know what kind of mess I have uploaded
to your site so far as I don't know how to look at it. If I should be able
to look at my FTP folder with the control panel, I don't see how. I will
have to let it go until I hear from you. Can't seem to get anywhere. There
is a local weather site showing on my page but it is not from my station.
Sorry for all the issues, hope you can get me squared away.
Thanks.

The FTP password for the admin account is the same password as the Hestia password I emailed you. I just tested it in my FTP client and it works for me. I can log in and look at the files and everything is working.

I go to the web site builder routine in VWS I use your IP address to
connect. I enter "admin" for ID and the password you sent carefully typed
in. It does connect but then will go no further. Sometimes with the message
"FTP connection failed" or "Cannot connect to FTP server".

There is a window in VWS looking for "current working directory" and I fill
that with the string "/home/admin/web/wa2uetwx.heliohost.us/public_html". I
cannot connect with these settings. I must be missing something. I don't
know what.

I will continue to try but I need a break. Am I making some kind of mess at
your end with all of my failed tries? I can log onto the control panel but I
cannot find the FTP folder to look at what I have done.

And just so you know, this setup worked fine for several years as a web site
on the local ISP server. It is just me doing something that does not agree
with your server. And I appreciate your help.

Well, you managed to upload your files, but not to the right place so it's working partially, and I believe it will work eventually. We just need to figure out what the issue is. Did you see the email where I suggested trying

/web/wa2uetwx.heliohost.us/public_html/

for the remote directory instead of

/home/admin//web/wa2uetwx.heliohost.us/public_html/

Posted
Yes I see that and I have tried it a number of times without success. Would
that string keep me from logging on. I can connect then it tries 3 times to
logon and then fails.
I am not certain where to enter that string below. But it does not seem that
would prevent me from logging on. I have tried "admin" and "wa2uet" for user
name and still will not log in. I have obviously logged in before else the
files would not be there. The national weather window shows up for Ghent
when I log onto the page but my station does not. Like you said it is in the
wrong place.

Now I cannot even log onto the web page because Malwarebytes says there is a
malware threat and I can't get past it. But I have logged on several times
before. Frustrating!
