Hello Heliohost,

 

I really appreciate the work that the heliohost team is doing.

 

I am new to this heliohost platform, can't find where to create the post in

forums. (Heliohost / Helionet).

 

I have an account on Ricky Server (username: rajababu ). I want to delete

this account and want to shift to Tommy Server. I need to work with Django

3.0.3 & Python 3.7 / Python 3.8.

 

Please tell me where to pay the donation amount. Where to message after

doing my donation for the creation of an account on Tommy Server. Any other

information that can be useful to me regarding my queries, as I am not much

familiar with this platform now.

 

My email id registered is the same as the one I am sending the mail.

You can delete your Ricky account here: http://heliohost.org/classic/support/scripts/delete and wait an hour or two until it fully deletes (it will show as being inactive while deletion is pending).

 

Once deleted, please donate at least $1 here: https://www.heliohost.org/tommy/ An invite should automatically send to your paypal email address within 24 hours (note that it sometimes goes to spam, so check there too). If you do not receive the invite for some reason, you can email us the transaction ID from the donation and we'll send you an invite manually.

Please note that neither Tommy has support for Django 3. The current version on Tommy is 2.1.13 and also the lastest Python version here is 3.7 and not 3.8.

I had requested for the deletion of my Ricky username. Can't access Heliohost profile by that username, but when I try to open the site, it shows Queued  (rajababu.heliohost.org)

 

I also received the Invitation for my Tommy Server. 

 

My Query:

1) I want to use the same email id that I was using before on Ricky Server.

2) What are the options for my username on Tommy Server. Can I use old username? Or I have to create new username? 

3) Can I proceed to signup for Tommy Server.? (Imp)

The invite always goes to the PayPal email. You'll need to pick different username and probably different domain as well.

 

Once the account is set up, we can change the domain and email to match your old one. You will not be able to change the username.

I am trying to create my Account on Tommy Server. While choosing username, my old username is available for use (Next Button is enabled, after entering my old username). From above comment/support, same username can't be created.

If the username is available, you can use it. More often than not, a user's paypal email and their old account email are different.

 

The first time a username is registered, it's attached to the email address when the forum account is created. The only way a username can be reused is if the new account is being created under the same email address as the old one. This is by design.
