nuk Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Domain: ukanuk.heliohost.orgUsername: ukanuk2Server: Tommy (have been on Stevie and Ricky in the past) Hello, I am unable to log in or reset my password using the the main login in the top right of https://www.heliohost.org/. I requested a password reset, received the reset email and clicked the link to reset my password. But when I click "Submit" on the "Set New Password" webpage at https://www.heliohost.org/reset/password/, I get this message: ErrorUh oh, there was an error changing your password. The admins have already been notified of the problem, but if you would like us to manually change your password for you please contact support. You could also try reseting your password again. Note there's a typo, it should be "resetting" not "reseting", but the important part is that I'm locked out. I suspect this is caused because I reset my password yesterday from within cpanel. I forget which link exactly I clicked to change the password, but afterwards I got an email from cpanel@ukanuk.heliohost.org saying my password had been changed, and this makes me think I changed some local software password without changing the main password in heliohost's system. Email from cpanel@ukanuk.heliohost.org: You have successfully updated your password for the following services:ftpmailMySQLpostgresqlsystemIf you initiated this change, disregard this email. If you did not initiate this change, contact your system administrator.
wolstech Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 The reset link on our website doesn't work right half the time. Things like server load tend to cause it to fail. Try using this instead to reset it: https://tommy.heliohost.org:2083/resetpass?start=1 , then try signing in here once you complete the reset process: https://tommy.heliohost.org:2083/
nuk Posted January 31, 2020 Author Posted January 31, 2020 I still can't log in from https://www.heliohost.org, but https://tommy.heliohost.org:2083/ is fine for me to use instead.
Krydos Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 It's possible your password uses a character (like a space) that isn't supported by our website.
nuk Posted January 31, 2020 Author Posted January 31, 2020 Cool, that must have been it. I didn't use spaces, but did use backslash and forward slash characters (/ and \). After removing them, I'm now able to log in from the main heliohost.org page. Thanks for all the help!
