jakass Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Hello! I'm writing a Python game server using sockets. Everything works on local host, but I'm kinda lost about what I've to make the server running online ... I've already uploaded the .py file. Now, how can I start running them? And what host + port do I have to put on the server and on the client? Sorry if this questions are kinda newbie, but I do not find it too much on the internet ... Thanks! : D Quote
wolstech Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 That sort of thing cant be run here since we dont allow custom inbound ports. Youre going to need a vps for that most likely. Most regular hosts wont allow a custom server to run. Quote
Krydos Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Here's what we recommend https://www.heliohost.org/partners/vps If you use our link we get a cut. Thanks. What exactly are you trying to do? It's possible there is a way to do it without needing an inbound port to bind your socket to. Quote
