fuzmic Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Hi guys As i was trying to find out, how do i change the php version in the control panel for my website? What is the current version in use? Thank you
wolstech Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Tommy and Ricky have an option labeled “multiPHP manager” in cpanel. It’s towards the bottom under “Software”. You can specify php versions for each domain and subdomain you have. The default is 5.6 I believe on both servers. On Johnny, you can’t change the version as only 5.6 is offered on that server.
Luigi123 Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Moved to Questions. Also, how come Johnny doesnt have multiPHP manager? Can he have the same like Ricky and Tommy?
wolstech Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Johnny has an old version of cPanel, CentOS and EasyApache 3, all of which don’t support it. Johnny is permanently stuck in the past because cPanel dropped support for Ruby On Rails in newer versions of cPanel. You can’t download old versions of cPanel either, so if Johnny is ever updated or becomes damaged beyond repair, we’ll be forced to discontinue RoR support until we develop our own custom solution to run it on newer cPanel. Krydos has looked into this, but I haven’t heard anything lately on where progress on that stands.
Krydos Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 I have a functional Ruby on Rails running on Ricky http://krydos1.heliohost.org/testror/ So, I guess we could upgrade Johnny now as long as root admins are willing to install each RoR application manually...
fuzmic Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 Thank you pals for the various angles of this subject, enlightening!. Cheers!
