fuzmic Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Hi guysI note that I use up >80% of the disk space & it came from hidden files, how to remove them. I think I should be using about 50%Please advise
wolstech Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Check in the tmp folder. The statistics software loves to eat data since there's 3 apps to choose from and they're all on by default. You can turn off the ones you don't use in cPanel (Metrics editor). If you use FTP, you can see the hidden files (flies starting with period). Odds are it's going to be python modules, mail, and similar things that you actually need to keep...
Krydos Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 root@tommy [/home/fuzmic]# du --max-depth=1 -h 880K ./.cpanel 20K ./etc 204K ./mail 0 ./.htpasswds 286M ./public_html 4.3M ./tmp 0 ./public_ftp 456K ./.cphorde 56K ./ssl 20K ./.softaculous 480K ./logs 4.5M ./0fr 0 ./1zm 4.0K ./.sitepad 0 ./.pki 529M ./.trash 0 ./softaculous_backups 825M . It looks like you should clear your trash.

Krydos Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Krydos teach me how to run the root@tommy...Only 3 people have the root password for Tommy. If you install linux on your home computer you can run commands like that on it though.
